KWM advises Quadrant on investment in wealth and advisory firms

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) advised Quadrant Private Equity on their recent investments in Fitzpatricks Group and Retirement Victoria. Quadrant teamed up with Yorkway Capital Partners to acquire the Fitzpatricks private wealth and advisory firm and Retirement Victoria’s financial advisory business to form the Fitzpatricks Group.

The KWM team was led by Partner Mark McNamara, Senior Associate Anthony Boogert, and Solicitor John Arthur, with support from Liz Hundt-Russell, Tim Sherman, Jason Byrne, Joe Power and Karen Chen.

Vinge has advised Apica in connection with funding round

Vinge has advised Apica in connection with a 12 MUSD funding round, with the goal of helping Apica expand its market presence in the U.S. and Europe outside of the Nordics. Among others OXX, SEB Venture Capital, KTH Chalmers Capital and Industrifonden have participated in the round. Apica is a Swedish company providing internet based services conducting load testing and performance analysis of business critical web applications.

Schlumberger acquires 50% interest in Petro-SPM from Petrofac

De Brauw has advised Schlumberger on the acquisition of 50% interest in Petro-SPM from Petrofac.

Schlumberger has acquired a 50% interest in Petro-SPM Integrated Services from Petrofac. Petro-SPM is a joint venture company set up to operate the onshore Pánuco field. Petrofac and Schlumberger established Petro-SPM Integrated Services in March 2013 under a 30-year integrated services contract signed with Pemex. Schlumberger now holds a 100% interest in Petro-SPM.

Castren & Snellman represented Fibria Celulose S.A. in their investment in Spinnova Oy. Through the investment, Fibria acquired a minority interest in Finnish-based Spinnova and a partner in the development, production and marketing of new materials using its technologies.

Fibria is a stock exchange listed Brazilian forestry company and the world’s leading producer of eucalyptus pulp from planted forests.

Ashurst advises IFM Investors on the sale of its shareholding in Scottish Pacific Group Limited

Ashurst has advised IFM Investors (IFM) on the sale of its shareholding in Scottish Pacific Group Limited (Scottish Pacific).

IFM sold down its 12.4% stake in a block trade managed by J.P Morgan Australia Limited after the company's shares in Scottish Pacific came out of escrow on 29 August 2017 after Scottish Pacific released its results. The sale price of A$2.70 per share means the sale will raise gross proceeds of approximately A$46.6 million.

The team was led by partner Sarah Dulhunty (Corporate) and included lawyer Kristen Wong (Corporate).

ASML sells its interest in Liteq to Kulicke & Soffa Industries, Inc.

Liteq develops chip packaging machines that work on the basis of lithographic methods, a new way of packaging, enabling the chip industry to respond to the semiconductors always becoming smaller and thinner.

Liteq's technologies were developed through close cooperation of several technology, financial and developmental organizations within the region including ASML Netherlands BV, Beltec Holding BV, the Brabant Development Agency (BOM), Sioux, Random Capital BV and Torrente BV.
