King & Wood Mallesons advises Nexxus Iberia on the closing of Nexxus Iberia Private Equity Fund I

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) advised Nexxus Iberia on the closing of its new private equity fund, Nexxus Iberia Private Equity Fund I, with €130 million in capital commitments, out of a target size of €200 million. The limited partners of the fund at the first closing include institutional investors, as well as high net worth investors and family offices from Mexico and Spain.

Influential streetwear and youth culture title Highsnobiety has raised an $8.5 million Series A round led by London-based venture firm Felix Capital. The investment will go into investing in new technology and digital media in niche verticals, from sneakers to music, the capturing of more extensive data and analytics as well as into the world of curated editorial and long-form video. The international law firm Taylor Wessing advised Felix Capital on all legal aspects of the financing.

Schulte Advises Endicott in Strategic Investment Into Bank Leumi USA

Schulte advised Endicott Management Company, a leading New York City investment firm primarily focused on equity investments in banks, in the strategic investment in Bank Leumi le-Israel Corporation, a U.S. bank holding company. The investment, which involves Bank Leumi le-Israel B.M.'s  sale of the shares it holds in Bank Leumi le-Israel, is being led by Endicott and includes MSD Capital LP, and totals a 15 percent stake in Bank Leumi le-Israel. The 15 percent is valued at approximately $141 million.

Tencent Invests in Skydance

Paul, Weiss represented Tencent, a leading provider of internet value-added services in China, in its investment in Skydance Media, a U.S.-based diversified media company that creates high-quality, event-level entertainment across its feature film, animation, television, gaming and digital platforms. In addition to the investment, Tencent will cooperate with Skydance to co-finance Skydance films and to market, distribute and merchandise in China.  

Clifford Chance advises Cassia Investments on deal to acquire luxury fashion group Shanghai Tang

Hong Kong:Clifford Chance advised consumer sector focused private equity firm Cassia Investments Limited on its subscription of shares into Shanghai Tang Group Ltd., a special purpose vehicle ultimately controlled by Italian fashion entrepreneur Alessandro Bastagli; and the subsequent acquisition by Shanghai Tang Group Ltd. of Hong Kong luxury fashion house Shanghai Tang group from Richemont International Holdings S.A.. The Shanghai Tang group has key operations in Hong Kong, Singapore and mainland China.

Mason Hayes & Curran Advises On Solar Farms in Ireland

Mason Hayes & Curran advised the NTMA, as controller and manager of Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF), on its co-investment with Capital Stage AG, a German stock market listed solar and wind park operator, in a €140 million fund to develop solar farms in Ireland.

The parties have committed to co-invest a total of €140 million and it is expected to lead to the development of 20 solar farms in Ireland with a total generating capacity of up to 140 MW (power for 25,000 homes). This is ISIF’s first investment in solar assets.

MoFo Represents SoftBank in Multi-Billion Dollar Investment in Uber

Morrison & Foerster served as sole counsel to SoftBank in facilitating the successful close of SoftBank’s primary and secondary investment in Uber, the largest ever private secondary transaction in the technology space.

The MoFo deal team was led by Suz Mac Cormac, a partner in the firm’s San Francisco office, and included partner Alex Kaufman (Palo Alto), partner Noah Carr (Tokyo) and Ken Siegel, managing partner of the firm’s Tokyo office.

Hunton Assists East Coast Furnitech on Sale of Shares

Hunton & Williams, Bangkok assisted East Coast Furnitech Public Company Limited (ECF: Bangkok), a manufacturer and distributor of particle board and rubber wood furniture to nationwide stores such as Tesco Lotus, Big C and Home Pro, on the issuance and allocation of 30,000,000 newly-issued ordinary shares at the offering price of THB 5.58 per share worth THB 167,400,000 or approximately USD 5 million to specific investors, Macquarie Bank Limited and One Asset Management Limited, who will allocate such shares to the 29 mutual and provident funds under their management.

Codelco Group Sells Shares in Deutsche Giessdraht GmbH to Aurubis AG

Cleary Gottlieb is advising the Chilean Codelco Group in the sale of its shares in Deutsche Giessdraht GmbH to Aurubis AG.

Prior to the transaction, Codelco’s stake, via its German subsidiary Codelco Kupferhandel GmbH, represented 40 percent of the joint venture. The remaining 60 percent was already held by Aurubis. The joint venture produces roughly 240,000 tons of copper wire rod per year, and it has a workforce of approximately 110 employees.
