Osborne Clarke advises Raine Ventures on investment in Dojo Madness

Osborne Clarke has advised the US investor Raine Ventures on its investment in Berlin-based start-up Dojo Madness GmbH. The capital comes from Raine Ventures and other co-investors. The financing round will allow Dojo Madness to extend its product line and expand in Asia. In total, the company has raised EUR 5.8 million in this investment round.

Raine Ventures is the venture capital arm of The Raine Group a globally acting US-merchant bank with offices in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, London and Shanghai.

Eubelius assists Leoville to obtain the status of Specialised Real Estate Investment Fund (FIIS)

Almost four months after publication of the Royal Decree of 9 November 2016 relating to the specialised real estate investment funds, the Ministry of Finance has received the first requests of registration on the list of specialized real estate investment funds. Matthias Wauters, Tim Van Moorhem and Eva Milants of Eubelius assisted Leoville Properties to obtain the FIIS-status.

A FIIS is a fiscally transparent investment vehicle focused on real estate for Belgian and foreign "qualified investors".

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Staufen.Digital Invest GmbH (Staufen.Digital), on a Series A financing. Staufen.Digital has acquired shares in the Karlsruhe technology startup robodev GmbH. The agreement includes the issue of an A-1 tranche and the entry of another technology venture capital fund in the medium term. The transaction volume remains confidential.

This transformational increase in manufacturing capacity will allow Accsys to meet demand from the substantial and growing markets for its products globally.

Delphi has advised the German company AM Ventures in the investment in the Swedish company Exmet AB and their patented solution for additive manufacturing (also known as 3D printing or free form fabrication) of amorphous metals. The investment aims to shorten the time to market for new functional products.

Exmet develops technology for additive manufacturing (AM) of amorphous metal alloys. With Exmet’s additive manufacturing technology, engineers and designers can fully exploit the excellent properties of amorphous metals.

Shearman & Sterling Advises Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board on Investment in Spandana Sphoorty Financial Limited

Shearman & Sterling advised Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board (OTPP), alongside Kedaara Capital Investment Managers Limited and Soros Fund Management LLC, on its investment in Spandana Sphoorty Financial Limited.

Spandana is an Indian microfinance lender with 540 branches in 13 Indian states and has over two million borrowers. The funds will be used to repay and restructure Spandana’s existing debt with 37 different lenders and exit the Indian corporate debt restructuring scheme.
