The Knorr-Bremse Group ("Knorr Bremse") is acquiring Vossloh Kiepe – the Electrical Systems unit of Vossloh AG. The two companies have signed an agreement to this effect. With this acquisition, Knorr Bremse is adding state-of-the-art drive technology for rail and commercial vehicles to its portfolio. Closing of the transaction is subject to approval by the anti-trust authorities and is expected in the first quarter of 2017.

Svenska Handelsfastigheter has decided to make a capital issue, giving the company an estimated acquisition capacity of approximately SEK 3.5 billion, to further strengthen its financial flexibility and secure further growth. In connection with the rights issue AP4 and Kåpan Pensioner will become new owners.

VivaAerobús was established in 2006 as a joint venture between Irelandia Aviation and IAMSA Group.

MUNICH, December 21, 2016 – The international law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP has advised General Atlantic on a new investment round of FlixBus. With Silver Lake, FlixBus has secured the strategic investment of the global leader in technology investing from the Silicon Valley. Existing investors General Atlantic, a leading global growth investor, Holtzbrinck Ventures and Daimler also participated in the investment round.

Noerr has advised the leading global provider of fresh food at home, HelloFresh, on a further round of financing. A new leading international investor is investing €85 million of new capital in HelloFresh together with investment company Baillie Gifford, which already holds an interest. At the same time, HelloFresh will now be trading as an SE (Societas Europaea). Noerr also assisted in changing the company’s legal form.

The Eversheds Clean Energy team advised PiP, a dedicated infrastructure investment manager established by pension schemes to facilitate long term investment into UK infrastructure, on the transaction.

The PiP Multi-Strategy Infrastructure Fund acquired a portfolio of 31 individual wind turbines from Golden Square Energy, the renewables business and joint venture partnership between Ingenious Infrastructure and AGR. The sites are well diversified across the UK and all of the turbines are operational and accredited under the UK’s feed-in-tariff regime.

Shearman & Sterling advised China state-owned State Grid as the preferred strategic investor on the acquisition of a 24% interest of Independent Power Transmission Operator, a wholly owned subsidiary of Greece state-owned Public Power Corporation.

The signing ceremony was held in Athens, Greece on Friday, December 16, 2016. The transaction represents China's second-largest investment in Greece in recent months.

Vinge has advised AMF, Första AP-fonden and Folksam in connection with their SEK 5 bn investment in Volvo Cars. The investment is made in preference shares and includes a right to convert the preference shares into ordinary shares in connection with potential future IPO.

International law firm Simmons & Simmons advised Growthpoint Properties Limited, a South African REIT listed on the JSE, on its EUR186.4m subscription for 23,300,000 ordinary shares in AIM listed Globalworth Real Estate Investments Limited, a real estate investment company active in Central and South East Europe with a primary focus on Romania. The transaction completed on 20 December 2016, and Growthpoint now holds a 26.88% stake in Globalworth.
