Norton Rose Fulbright advises Oryx Petroleum Corporation Ltd on its acquisition of a new license for offshore exploration in the Brazzaville Congo

Norton Rose Fulbright advised Oryx Petroleum Corporation Ltd ( Oryx ) on the acquisition of a 30% stake of the new exploration license, Haute Mer B, granted by government of the Republic of Congo.

Oryx has acquired the license alongside Total, Chevron and the National Oil Company of Congo. As part of this acquisition, the consortium has also signed a partnership agreement for the operation and exploitation of the maritime area extending east of Moho Bilondo.

Baker & McKenzie Advises Amsted Rail on Joint Venture with United Wagon Company

Moscow, Russia - Baker & McKenzie advised Amsted Rail, the world’s leading manufacturer of undercarriage and end-of-car railcar components, on its joint venture with United Wagon Company (UWC).

The joint venture will introduce the latest technology in heavy haul railway components into the freight railroading market in Russia, the CIS and certain other countries. Under the deal, UWC will receive intellectual property rights to Amsted Rail’s 18-9836 bogie system specifically designed for railcars operating on 1,520 mm gauge track.

Dentons advises The Entertainer on Middle East expansion

London—Dentons has advised The Entertainer, the UK's largest independent toy shop, on the signing of a 45-store franchise deal for the Middle East with Dubai-based retail group Al Owais Enterprises.

The deal represents the first stage in an international expansion drive by The Entertainer, which currently operates 84 stores across the UK. Store openings in the Middle East will begin in the UAE, followed by expansion throughout the GCC region.

Freshfields helps Ultrapar enter Brazilian retail pharmacy sector

Leading international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Ultrapar, one of Brazil's largest companies, on forming an association with Extrafarma, one of Brazil’s largest drug store chains.

Extrafarma operates 186 drug stores in the North and North East of Brazil and the transaction is expected to accelerate its expansion by allowing drugstore openings in Ipiranga service stations and Ultragaz resellers (both divisions of Ultrapar).
