Norton Rose Fulbright advises Hyperion on strategic partnership

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Hyperion Insurance Group on a strategic partnership with Euroassekuranz Versicherungsmakler AG. Both parties have signed agreements which establish reciprocal shareholding. The transaction is pending regulatory approvals.

Both sides of this this Anglo-German partnership will benefit from mutual know-how transfer and competitive advantages. Euroassekuranz will gain direct access to the international insurance markets and Hyperion’s strong global networks.

Clyde & Co advises on joint venture between Sanpower Group and Liberty Mutual

Clyde & Co Westlink JLV* has advised Sanpower Group, the multi-national conglomerate, on its joint venture with Liberty Mutual, the insurance group. 

The deal will see Sanpower purchase a majority stake (51%) in Liberty Mutual's wholly owned Chinese insurance subsidiary, Liberty China. On completion Liberty China will become a joint venture between Sanpower and Liberty Mutual.

Zora Biosciences is a Finnish diagnostics discovery company. The company identifies robust markers of heart disease and develops them into high-throughput, health-economic value-added clinical methods.
In June 2016 the company announced the signing of an agreement with US origin Mayo Medical Laboratories to collaborate on Plasma Ceramide Testing. The test results may help the patients with coronary artery disease.

Eversheds has assisted and advised the client, Zora Biosciences Ltd., in all legal issues since the establishment of the company.

 

Ashurst advises Morrisons on the entry into new agreements with Ocado

Ashurst advised Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc on the entry into new agreements and the amendment of certain existing agreements in connection with its partnership with Ocado. These new terms will allow Morrisons to share Ocado's new customer fulfilment centre in Erith and further grow its online business across the UK.

The Ashurst team was led by corporate partners Dominic Ross and Bruce Hanton, assisted by associates Emily Thompson, Hayley Gow and Harry Thimont. Intellectual property and IT advice was provided by partner Mark Lubbock and associate Caroline Hogan.

KWM advises Landbridge on Darwin luxury hotel

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has advised Landbridge on its agreement with the Northern Territory Government to build a luxury hotel at the Darwin waterfront.

Landbridge has signed a binding agreement with the Northern Territory Government with construction of the hotel set to commence next year.

The KWM team was led by Projects and Real Estate Partner David Bell and Tax Partner Katrina Parkyn.

NautaDutilh assists OOS International with respect to the construction of two semi-submersible crane vessels

NautaDutilh assists Overdulve Offshore Services (OOS) International with respect to the entry into a partnership with China Merchants Industry Holdings (CMIH) regarding the engineering and construction of two Semi-Submersible Crane Vessels (SSCV's) named OOS Serooskerke and OOS Walcheren.

OOS International is a fast growing offshore services company. It currently operates two SSCV's, called OOS Gretha and OOS Prometheus, under a contract with Petrobras for renovating and maintaining 30 platforms in Brazil.

Clyde & Co advise China Re on first overseas operations

Global law firm Clyde & Co has advised China Reinsurance Group (China Re), China's only state-owned reinsurance group company, on the establishment of its first overseas branch in Singapore.

The establishment of the Singapore branch will allow China Re to expand its operations in the region and act as a bridge for the insurance market between China and the broader Asia Pacific region. China Re is the largest domestic reinsurer in China, the largest reinsurer in Asia and approximately the eighth largest globally.

Slaughter and May is advising GlaxoSmithKline plc on its agreement with Verily Life Sciences LLC (formerly Google Life Sciences), an Alphabet company, to form Galvani Bioelectronics to enable the research, development and commercialisation of bioelectronics medicines. Bioelectronic medicine is a relatively new scientific field that aims to tackle a wide range of chronic diseases using miniaturised, implantable devices that can modify electrical signals that pass along nerves in the body.

Ashurst advises Australian National University on landmark student accommodation
