Clifford Chances has advised CVC Capital Partners ("CVC") on its partnership with Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, GIC, leading CVC to become a co-shareholder in the RAC through the purchase of Carlyle's stake in the RAC.

The investment was the very first made from CVC's Strategic Opportunities Platform, established in response to growing demand from large investors to be able to invest for the long term in stable, high quality businesses.

Setterwalls has assisted Jämtvind AB in its joint venture agreement with Huanghe Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Power Investment Corporation (“SPIC”) which is one of the largest state-owned electricity producers in the People’s Republic of China. The joint venture company will be established in Jämtland after the joint venture agreement has been approved by SPIC and the Chinese government and it will focus on developing renewable energy, i.a. wind power.

Ince & Co advise Golar LNG on Sub Saharan Africa's first FSRU project

Ince & Co has advised longstanding client Golar LNG (“Golar”) on their contract with West Africa Gas Limited (“WAGL”) to provide Floating Storage and Regasification Unit ("FSRU") services to support their Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import project in Ghana. The transaction marks Sub Saharan Africa's first FSRU project.

WAGL, a joint venture between the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (60%) and Sahara Energy Resource Ltd (40%), is developing an LNG import project at the port of Tema, Ghana. The planned start-up date is for Q2 2016.

Squire Patton Boggs Advises Owens Corning on Wind Energy Purchases

Squire Patton Boggs has advised Owens Corning, the global producer of insulation, roofing and fiberglass composites, in executing wind energy supply agreements in connection with newly installed wind energy capacity.

In announcing these transactions, Owens Corning noted that they represent “the largest wind power agreements reported by an industrial company in the world.” They also support Owens Corning’s pledge to meet its ambitious 2020 sustainability goals, and will significantly reduce the company’s carbon emission footprint.
