Kromann Reumert and global law firm Reed Smith advised Danish biotech company Bavarian Nordic on a license and supply agreement for its MVA-BN Ebola Vaccine with world the leading pharmaceutical company Janssen (part of Johnson & Johnson) to develop a new Ebola vaccine.

Under the agreement, Bavarian Nordic will grant Janssen an exclusive license for its multivalent MVA-BN Filovirus vaccine.

Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co has advised longstanding client Euroclear on its agreement with the US's Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) to develop a joint collateral processing service.

The joint venture, between two of the largest post-trade services providers in the world, will help develop and streamline margin settlement processes and enhance access to securities collateral worldwide, improving the stability of financial markets.

K&L Gates Acts for Century Tokyo Leasing Corporation on Aircraft Leasing Joint Ventures

K&L Gates has represented Century Tokyo Leasing Corporation (CTL) in an aircraft leasing joint venture with CIT Group (CIT) that allows for the establishment of joint venture companies in both Ireland and the United States (Delaware) as consolidated subsidiaries of CTL. CTL is expected to provide 70% of the equity and all of the debt financing for each, with the joint ventures planning to invest approximately US$2 billion over the next two years targeting relatively new aircraft, with the joint ventures initially set to acquire 14 aircraft from CIT.

Reed Smith advises on deal leading the fight against Ebola

Reed Smith and leading Danish firm, Kromann Reumert, advised Danish listed company, Bavarian Nordic, on a licence and supply agreement for its MVA-BN Ebola Vaccine with Crucell Holland B.V. (one of the Janssen Pharmaceuticals companies of Johnson & Johnson). Under the agreement, Bavarian Nordic will grant Janssen an exclusive licence for its multivalent MVA-BN Filovirus vaccine. Preclinical studies involving Bavarian Nordic’s vaccine and Janssen’s AdVac     technology recently demonstrated complete protection against Ebola.

DLA Piper advises on first international Solar Licence Deal

DLA Piper has announced its involvement in the first international solar licence deal, which will cut electricity bills for up to 4,500 homes in Greater Manchester by around £40m.

The DLA Piper team which was led by partner Natasha Luther-Jones alongside senior associate James Wood-Robertson, advised the world’s biggest solar cell producer Taiwanese-owned GES, on the deal valued at £18m.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised China Mobile on the formation of a joint venture with Deutsche Telekom that will bring the cutting edge ‘Connected Car’ software platform to the Chinese market.

The joint venture will utilise Deutsche Telekom’s proprietary telematics technology and China Mobile’s high-quality LTE network infrastructure throughout China.

Freshfields advised on the intellectual property licensing aspects of the joint venture, as well as providing strategic advice during the negotiations in its formation.

Algar Telecom enters into joint build agreement of new undersea fiber-optic cable project connecting Brazil and U.S.

Jones Day represented Algar Telecom, a Brazilian telecommunications company, in connection with an agreement for the joint construction with Google, Angola Cables and Antel (Uruguay) of a new undersea fiber-optic cable connecting the cities of Santos and Fortaleza in Brazil with Boca Raton, Florida in the United States. TE Connectivity SubCom, is the selected constructor for the project.
