The real estate team at the Manchester office of leading national law firm Shoosmiths has advised Allied London on one of the biggest office pre-lets in the city in almost 20 years.

Shoosmiths acted for Allied London on the pre-let of 222,000 sqft of space at Manchester Goods Yard, which forms part of Allied London's Enterprise City tech campus.

Booking.com will be one of Enterprise City's anchor tenants in the 12 year letting deal which will provide a new global headquarters for the group's ground transportation division, Rentalcars.com.

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has advised Russian carrier Nordwind Airlines ("Nordwind") on a long-term lease of three new Boeing 737-800 aircraft from CDB Aviation Lease Finance DAC. Two aircraft have already been delivered.

Nordwind plans to operate aircraft on domestic and international routes thereby expanding its regular flights network.

Earlier this year, Debevoise also advised Nordwind on operating leases for seven new Embraer E190 aircraft from Nordic Aviation Capital, and one Airbus A321-200 and one Boeing 777-300ER aircraft from Aircastle.

Greenberg Traurig Warsaw Office advised Golub GetHouse, as the landlord, on lease concluded with WeWork, a global leader in flexible workspace, which became the exclusive tenant of office space in the Western Building of Mennica Legacy Tower complex. Mennica Legacy Tower complex is being developed on the corner of Prosta and Zelazna streets in Warsaw by Golub GetHouse and Mennica Polska.

The transaction was led by Local Partner Magdalena Zyczkowska-Jozwiak, who was supported by Associate Agnieszka Gul-Czajkowska and Associate Karol Lewandowski.

A team from Clifford Chance has advised CDB Aviation Lease Finance DAC (“CDB Aviation”) on a long-term lease of three Boeing 737-800 aircraft to a Russian carrier, Nordwind Airlines (“Nordwind”).

The first 737-800 was delivered to the airline on 27th July, the second aircraft was delivered on 1st August, and the third remaining aircraft is expected to deliver toward the end of August. The 737-800s are configured in a single economy class layout and will be operated on Nordwind’s domestic routes.

Baker McKenzie’s Kyiv office advised and assisted Canada in the acquisition of the lease rights to a land plot in Kyiv.

The land plot will be used by the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine. The lease term is 49 years.

Baker McKenzie’s Kyiv team was led by Partner Lina Nemchenko, with key input from Elmaz Abkhairova, Associate.

The Warsaw office of Greenberg Traurig advised Invesco Real Estate on signing a lease agreement with Deloitte for office space in the prestigious Q22 office building in Warsaw. Deloitte has leased over 15,000 sq. m. since 2016 and has signed a prolongation and expansion agreement until 2031. The leased space may ultimately exceed 30,000 sq. m. and the agreement will have the longest duration of any lease agreement for office space ever signed in Poland.

The transaction was led by Senior Associate Karolina Kuzniak and supervised by Partner Agnieszka Stankiewicz.

International law firm Ashurst advised Deka Immobilien GmbH on the signing of a 9-year lease agreement with French insurance group AG2R La Mondiale, for the entire “Synergy” office building in Paris, as well as part of the retail premises, from September 2019, to accommodate their new headquarters.

The Synergy building, which is undergoing extensive renovations,  is located at 14-16 boulevard Malesherbes and offers a total surface area of circa 7,700 square meters.

DLA Piper has advised the US based aircraft lessor, Pegasus Aviation VI, on the leasing of the Aircraft Boeing 767-300 to the Ukrainian airline, Azur Air Ukraine.

The firm provided complex analysis and implementation of aircraft registration provisions. The work undertaken required knowledge of the extensive local laws and the detailed regulatory regime in line with international conventions. The team advised on currency control issues and their appropriate structuring, concerning the variety and complexity of the leasing payments.
