Mayer Brown advises on sale of PAALGROUP

Mayer Brown announced today that it represented RT Holding GmbH on the sale of PAALGROUP to Kadant Inc., a US-based global supplier of high-value, critical components and engineered systems used in process industries worldwide.

PAALGROUP is the leading European manufacturer of channel balers used in the processing of recyclable and waste materials. The holding of the company is based in Georgsmarienhütte (Germany) and has additional operations in Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Spain.

Debevoise Advises Opportunity International in Sale of Majority Stake in Kinshasa Microfinance Institution to VisionFund International

The London office of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has advised Opportunity International in its agreement to sell a majority stake in Kinshasa, a microfinance institution operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), to VisionFund International.

IKEA Industry signs agreement to divest IKEA Industry Latvia and 50 % of Incukalns Timber

IKEA Industry has signed an agreement to divest IKEA Industry Latvia and 50 % of Incukalns Timber to Rettenmeier Baltic. IKEA Industry Latvia owns and operates a saw mill in Latvia and Incukalns Timber supplies the saw mill with logs.

IKEA Industry was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction. The firms team was lead by Lars Kongstad assisted by Erik Hensfelt.

The Corporate Finance team at Burges Salmon has advised specialist fund manager Bridges Ventures LLP and management on their sale of Babington Group to RJD Partners.

Bridges Ventures, which operates as a specialist sustainable and impact investor, initially invested in Babington Group in 2009. Under Bridges Ventures’ ownership, not only has Babington subsequently seen its revenue increase by more than £13m, but it has also been able to support over 32,000 learners, and help over 3,700 formerly unemployed people to find jobs.

Berlin—Global law firm Dentons advised the charitable foundation Software AG Stiftung, the majority shareholder of biotech company Birken AG, on Birken's share-for-share sale to Irish company Amryt Pharmaceuticals Designated Activity Company.
