White & Case Advises on 150 MW Solar Farm in New South Wales, Australia

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Neoen on the development and project financing of the 189MWp Coleambally Solar Farm in New South Wales.

"It was remarkable that Neoen was able to achieve financial close in less than a year from initial site selection; the largest financing of a solar farm in NSW, and Neoen's largest solar farm in Australia to date," said White & Case partner Ged Cochrane, who led the Firm's deal team. Dentons advises Georgia’s #1 telecom Silknet on US$153 million acquisition of Geocell

Dentons successfully advised Silknet, Georgia’s largest fixed-line telecommunications company, on the acquisition of Geocell, the second-largest mobile operator in the country. The value of the acquisition was US$153 million.

The acquisition, announced on January 26, 2018, will create the integrated telecom operator in Georgia, combining the broadband, pay TV and fixed line operations of Silknet with the mobile telecommunication activities of Geocell. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2018 after regulatory approvals.

Ropes & Gray Represents Healthwise in China Licensing Agreement with Tencent

Ropes & Gray represented Healthwise, a major U.S. and Canadian health content and education provider, in a licensing agreement with leading China internet company Tencent.

Under the agreement, Healthwise content will be offered for the first time in China. People in China will now have easy access to evidence-based, consumer-friendly information on thousands of health topics—from preparing for medical procedures, to manage chronic diseases and living a healthy lifestyle. Tencent will translate and localize the Healthwise content for their Chinese users.

Dentons advises Rafako on a contract to build two power units in Indonesia

Dentons supported Polish power contractor Rafako in a tender procedure and contract to build two coal-fired power units on the Indonesian island of Lombok. The contract, signed late in December 2017, is worth some EU200 million.

Rafako was part of aconsortium, led by Indonesia-based PT. Rekayasa Industri, which was selected as the winner of the tender. The contract calls for the completion of Unit I of the power plant within 36 months and Unit II within 39 months. Rafako will receive approximately 35 percent of the contract value.

DLA Piper advises CORESTATE on its acquisiton of micro-living asset Woodie in Hamburg

DLA Piper has advised CORESTATE Capital Holding S.A., a fully integrated investment manager and co-investor based in Luxembourg, on its acquisition of the micro-living asset "WOODIE", with 371 student apartments in Hamburg, Germany.

This asset was purchased for the real estate umbrella fund, which was launched on the Luxembourg AIF-Platform of Universal-Investment on behalf of Bayerische Versorgungskammer (BVK).

Tencent Invests in Skydance

Paul, Weiss represented Tencent, a leading provider of internet value-added services in China, in its investment in Skydance Media, a U.S.-based diversified media company that creates high-quality, event-level entertainment across its feature film, animation, television, gaming and digital platforms. G+T advises Beach Energy on successful completion of $1.585 billion acquisition of Lattice Energy

Gilbert + Tobin have advised Beach Energy Limited (Beach Energy) on the successful completion and financial close of its $1.585 billion acquisition of Lattice Energy Limited (Lattice Energy) from Origin Energy Limited. Lattice Energy holds interests in conventional upstream oil and gas assets across Australia and New Zealand, including in the Otway, BassGas, Halladale Speculant and Black Watch, Kupe, Waitsia, Beharra Springs and Cooper Basin gas projects.

Completion and financial close of the transaction occurred on 31 January 2018.

Freshfields advises Prudential on US$151m sale of Prudential Vietnam Finance

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) has advised Prudential Holdings Limited (‘Prudential’), a subsidiary of Prudential plc, on its US$151m auction sale of 100 per cent of Prudential Vietnam Finance Company Limited (‘Prudential Vietnam Finance’), a Vietnam-based consumer finance business, for US$151m.  The purchaser is Shinhan Card Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of the Shinhan Financial Group (a leading Korean financial institution), and the sale is subject to regulatory approvals.
