Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) announced that Mijke Sinninghe Damsté, a highly experienced litigator, will join the firm’s dispute resolution team in Amsterdam as a partner, effective on 1 May  2023.

Mijke joins the firm from a leading Dutch firm, where she was a litigation partner, focusing on class actions and collective settlements. She has vast experience in complex multi-jurisdictional litigation, transaction related and shareholders’ disputes and directors’ liability cases.

Allen & Overy is expanding its practice in asset management and alternative investments as part of its growth plan for Germany with the hire of the recognised fund specialist Dorothee Atwell who will join as a new partner on 1 May 2023. Dorothee Atwell will be based in the firm's Frankfurt office and will advise clients both in Germany and abroad. She will join the firm from Pinsent Masons, where she has been a partner since 2020.

Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP announced that Marina A. Torres has joined the Firm as a partner in in the Litigation Department, where she is part of Willkie’s White-Collar Defense Practice. She is based in Los Angeles.

Global law firm Goodwin announced that Debora Hoehne joined the firm’s Financial Restructuring group as a partner, resident in the New York office.

Global law firm Goodwin announced that Allison Nicklin, Alicia Palladino, Justin Platt, and Laura Umbrecht joined the firm’s Life Sciences practice as partners in New York and the newly established Philadelphia offices. Their arrival follows the previously announced team of 14 partners, led by partners Rachael Bushey, John Jones, and Thomas Gallagher, who recently joined Goodwin.

Global law firm Goodwin announced that Jon Olsen joined the firm’s Technology M&A practice as a partner in Southern California, working remotely in San Diego.

Winston & Strawn LLP announced the addition of Troy M. Yoshino and Eric J. Knapp as partners in the firm’s San Francisco office and as members of the Litigation Department.

Their arrival contributes to the firm’s ongoing commitment to expanding its bench strength in the Bay Area in order to serve clients whose businesses fuel the region’s and the nation’s economy.

O’Melveny announced that leading intellectual property patent litigator Robert F. Shaffer has joined the firm’s Washington, DC office as a partner in its Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group.

King & Spalding announced that private funds and real estate lawyer Gibbs Fryer has rejoined the firm as a partner in its Corporate, Finance and Investments (CFI) practice group. He is based in the firm’s Atlanta office.

Fryer will advise private equity sponsors and institutional investors on real estate capital markets transactions, with a particular focus on real estate fund formation, joint ventures and other capital markets transactions.
