PARTNER MOVES - Freshfields continues strategic growth with dispute resolution partner hire

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) announced that Mijke Sinninghe Damsté, a highly experienced litigator, will join the firm’s dispute resolution team in Amsterdam as a partner, effective on 1 May  2023.

Mijke joins the firm from a leading Dutch firm, where she was a litigation partner, focusing on class actions and collective settlements. She has vast experience in complex multi-jurisdictional litigation, transaction related and shareholders’ disputes and directors’ liability cases.

PARTNER MOVES - Allen & Overy strengthens its practice in asset management and alternative investments with fund specialist Dorothee Atwell

Allen & Overy is expanding its practice in asset management and alternative investments as part of its growth plan for Germany with the hire of the recognised fund specialist Dorothee Atwell who will join as a new partner on 1 May 2023. Dorothee Atwell will be based in the firm's Frankfurt office and will advise clients both in Germany and abroad. She will join the firm from Pinsent Masons, where she has been a partner since 2020.

Global law firm Goodwin announced that Allison Nicklin, Alicia Palladino, Justin Platt, and Laura Umbrecht joined the firm’s Life Sciences practice as partners in New York and the newly established Philadelphia offices. King & Spalding announced that private funds and real estate lawyer Gibbs Fryer has rejoined the firm as a partner in its Corporate, Finance and Investments (CFI) practice group. He is based in the firm’s Atlanta office.

Fryer will advise private equity sponsors and institutional investors on real estate capital markets transactions, with a particular focus on real estate fund formation, joint ventures and other capital markets transactions.
