Jani Lotz has joined Locke Lord’s Dallas office as a Partner in the Firm’s Real Estate and Finance Practice Group. With an extensive background in a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions, including real estate acquisitions and dispositions, developments, financings and refinancings, and office and retail leasing matters, Lotz further strengthens the Firm’s capabilities in Texas and across the country.

Leigh Smith has joined Locke Lord’s London office as a Partner in the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. Smith’s vast experience with all aspects of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters, particularly involving trade marks, adds depth to the Firm’s intellectual property team and its growing London office.

Andy Miller has rejoined Locke Lord’s Chicago office as a Partner in the Firm’s Health and Managed Care Litigation Practice Group. Miller brings to the Firm a wide range of regulatory and litigation, including patent litigation, antitrust and government relations experience across the health care industry.

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP announced that John (Jay) Neukom has joined the firm’s San Francisco office as a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Group, further enhancing the firm’s expertise in a key practice area for the office. Mr. Neukom is a veteran trial lawyer who brings to the firm extensive experience advising major Bay Area companies on complex business and intellectual property disputes, including trade secret misappropriation, and patent, trademark and copyright infringement matters. Linklaters announced that Tracy Whiriskey has joined as a partner in the firm’s corporate practice, based in Tokyo. Tracy has extensive experience in energy transition, the digital economy, infrastructure funds, insurance and other rapidly emerging business areas.

Tracy joins Linklaters from Ashurst where she headed up the corporate M&A practice in Tokyo and the insurance sector in Asia. Prior to joining Ashurst in July 2016, Tracy worked at Clifford Chance for over 10 years.

Baker McKenzie has appointed Gavin Rakoczy as a partner in the Restructuring and Insolvency (R&I) Team based in Sydney, joining the Firm’s strong Australian R&I offering, including partners Maria O'Brien in Sydney, Peter Lucarelli in Melbourne and Ian Innes in Brisbane.

Allen & Overy continues to invest in its International Arbitration group with the hire of partner David Herlihy, a specialist in investment arbitration and public international law. David, who joins from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP (Skadden), will initially be based in London and, subject to further regulatory analysis and any necessary approvals, will in due course split his time between London and Dublin.
