Lagrotteria, Dorothy Mello Laguzza, Gary M. Sapir, and Adam G. Husik all join the firm from LeClairRyan, where Lagrotteria served as head of the environmental practice area.

Fraser Mitchell, a highly respected planning lawyer has been appointed to national law firm Shoosmiths as a partner within its expanding Edinburgh based real estate team.

He has acted for public bodies and private developers in connection with all aspects of planning and development, including providing clients with strategic advice on planning applications and appeals, the negotiation of planning agreements, and advising on roads issues and compulsory purchase procedure and compensation. He has also sat on the Scottish Property Federation Planning and Development Committee.

Karen Howard has more than 30 years of experience in resolving complex planning law issues including large mixed use schemes, infrastructure development – such as a gas pipeline and motorway schemes – and compulsory purchase orders including acting for objectors on the Olympics and Emirates Stadium developments.

Westergaard, who previously practiced at Perkins Coie, represents companies and individuals in civil, criminal and administrative government enforcement actions and investigations. She handles and litigates major healthcare enforcement and regulation matters, including False Claims Act litigation, congressional inquiries and internal investigations.
