McCann FitzGerald advises Gaelectric on the sale of 230MW of wind energy assets to China General Nuclear

We advised Gaelectric Holdings plc on the sale of 230MW of wind farm assets to the renewable energy investment arm of the China General Nuclear Power Group (“CGNP”). The assets include 14 operational and in-development wind farms and are believed to have an enterprise value in excess of €400m.

The sale follows a year-long sales process and will see Gaelectric continue to manage the wind farms on behalf of CGNP and provide power take-off services to the group.

Gide, counsel to PETROCI-Holding and CI-Energies on an LNG terminal project in Côte d’Ivoire

The teams of international law firm Gide, alongside those of Ivorian firm ADKA, coordinated by Michel Pitron (Gide) and Adama Kamara (ADKA), advised State companies Société Nationale d’Opérations Pétrolières de la Côte d’Ivoire (PETROCI-Holding) and Société des Energies de Côte d'Ivoire (CI-Energies), on building a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply terminal in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.

Arntzen de Besche assists Stiftelsen SINTEF in the merger of Norsk Marinteknisk Forskningsinstitutt AS (Stiftelsen SINTEF owns 56 %) and SINTEF Fiskeri og Havbruk AS (Stiftelsen SINTEF owns 96 %) as well as in the transfer of one of Stiftelsen SINTEF’s departments to the merged entity.

The name of the merged entity will be SINTEF Ocean AS and the entity will have about 340 employees and a turnover of approximately 500 million. SINTEF’s ambition is to strengthen its position as a world leading research community within marine technology and biomarine research.

Ince & Co advises Golar on West Africa’s first regional LNG import hub

 Ince & Co LLP has advised long-standing client Golar on its participation in the CI-GNL (Ivory Coast LNG) consortium, which has been awarded the rights to build and operate an LNG re-gasification terminal with a floating storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU) in the Ivory Coast.

This project will allow for regional and domestic LNG demand to be met and make the Ivory Coast the first regional LNG import hub in West Africa. The terminal has a planned capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum and operations are expected to start mid-2018.

ESS signs agreements regarding EUR 300 million line of credit

European Spallation Source ERIC (ESS) has signed agreements regarding an in aggregate EUR 300 million line of credit with the European Investment Bank (EIB), the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and the Swedish Export Credit Corporation (SEK). The bridge financing enables ESS to follow its time plan for the research facility at this stage of the construction phase.

PT Saka Energi acquires interest in Sanga-Sanga gas production block from BP Plc
