Gowling WLG advises on landmark Rosatom El Dabaa nuclear power project

Gowling WLG has served as the legal adviser on one of the largest new-build nuclear power construction projects in the world: the El Dabaa project in Egypt, worth more than US$30 billion.

Gowling WLG acted for Rosatom State Corporation and its subsidiaries in successfully concluding the negotiation of the transaction. The project was formally announced in Egypt today at a ceremony attended by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin.

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Greencoat UK Wind PLC (Greencoat UKW), the leading listed renewable infrastructure fund, in connection with a £340 million equity offering which forms part of Greencoat UKW’s new share issuance programme and the acquisitions in 2017 of eight wind farms:

    five wind farms (80% stake in Deeping St Nicholas – 16.4MW, Red House – 12.3MW, Glass Moor – 16.4MW, Red Tile – 24.6MW and Bicker Fen – 26.7MW) from EDF Energy Renewables for a total consideration of £98 million;

White & Case LLP has advised EN+, a leading international vertically integrated aluminium and power producer with core assets located in Russia, on the offering of global depositary receipts admitted to trading on the London Stock Exchange and the Moscow Exchange.

The total size of the transaction, which is the largest Russian IPO globally since 2012, amounts to US$1.5 billion at the offer price, of which US$1 billion is primary proceeds and US$0.5 billion is a secondary component, excluding the over-allotment option.
