Lawrence Graham LLP has advised Cenkos Securities Plc ("Cenkos"), financial advisor and broker to Ithaca Energy Inc ("Ithaca"), in relation to its £203 million proposed acquisition of Valiant Petroleum Plc ("Valiant").  Valiant initiated a formal sales process on 6 September 2012 under the regime in the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers as part of its strategic review.

International legal practice Norton Rose has advised the Managers on Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) Sukuk issuance of US$1 billion certificates due in 2018.

The Managers comprised Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank PJSC, Citigroup Global Markets Limited, Dubai Islamic Bank PJSC, Emirates NBD Capital Limited, Standard Chartered Bank and The Royal Bank of Scotland plc as Joint Lead Managers and Commercial Bank International PJSC, Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB) and Union National Bank as Co-Managers.

Hogan Lovells Advises on EUR80 million Siblu Refinancing as Credit Funds Come to the Fore

Hogan Lovells advised a syndicate of five lenders on the EUR80 million refinancing of French holiday park operator Siblu, owned by private equity firm Bridgepoint Development Capital.

The deal has been heralded as demonstrating the growing importance of alternative credit providers to the European leveraged finance mid-market. In addition to advising Barclays and Société Générale, Hogan Lovells also advised credit funds Haymarket Financial, Babson and French fund, Tikehau, with the credit funds forming the largest part of the lending group.

Ashurst advises Nomura and AAA Securities on Indonesian IPO

Ashurst acted as international legal counsel to Nomura and AAA Securities in connection with the Indonesian initial public offering of PT Steel Pipe Industry of Indonesia Tbk, the largest steel pipe manufacturer in Indonesia by production capacity. The transaction was the year's first Indonesian IPO to be accompanied by an international offering.

The Ashurst deal team consisted of Hong Kong-based US partner Stuart Rubin, US counsel Ethan Perry and US associate Li Jiang. Partner Jonathan Parry and associate Simon Bullock provided advice on English law matters.

Norton Rose advises Banca IMI and Kinexia on project financing for four biomass plants in Italy

Milan: International legal practice Norton Rose has advised Banca IMI S.p.A . as arranger and lender on a €22.08 million limited recourse financing for the construction, operation and maintenance of four biogas-vegetable waste plants (aggregate capacity 4 MW). The plants are owned by four Italian special purpose vehicles which are in turn owned by Kinexia Group, a company listed on the Italian Stock Exchange (MTA – electronic stock market) and active in the renewables sector.
