Hogan Lovells advises on Community Deal in the UAE

DUBAI, 8 June 2016 – Hogan Lovells has advised Eltizam Asset Management Group on the merger of its subsidiary Three60 Communities, with Novus Community Management.

The new company also acquired the assets of Premium Community Management.

The deal creates the UAE's largest privately owned community management company, managing more than 80 buildings, including two master communities and more than 20,000 residential units. This expansion falls in line with the company’s long-term strategy to grow its operations throughout the UAE and GCC.

Stibbe advises Aedifica

Stibbe advises Aedifica, a Belgian listed company investing in health care real estate, on reaching agreement to acquire two new senior housing sites in Lochem and Rotterdam.

This is the third investment of Aedifica in The Netherlands. The Dutch portfolio will now soon comprise of seven high quality care residences that are either operational or under construction. Aedifica has developed a portfolio of health care real estate worth more than EUR 1 billion in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Press here for Aedifica's press release.

Radisson Blu launches in KZN

We were appointed to advise Oceans Umhlanga in the contract negotiations between Oceans Umhlanga and Rezidor (part of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group). The conclusion of the contract was celebrated at a media launch held at The Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga last Thursday, 2nd June 2016 where the Radisson Blu Hotel, Durban Umhlanga was officially announced.

The hotel will form part of the much anticipated Oceans Umhlanga development, which will include a shopping mall and luxury residential apartments.

Stibbe advises on the sale of the building De Rotterdam

Stibbe advises Rabo Real Estate Group on its sale of the building De Rotterdam to a consortium of Korean Investors, led by AMUNDI Real Estate.

The iconic building was designed by OMA/Rem Koolhaas. The sale comprises approximately 75,000 sq m of office space, the nhow hotel with 278 rooms and approximately 2,000 sq m of conference and event spaces, approximately 3,000 sq m of commercial units and the 5-storey car park with 670 places. This makes it the largest single asset transaction of recent times.

Setterwalls assists when Skandia Fastigheter acquires a property located in the city centre of Malmö

Setterwalls has assisted Skandia Fastigheter in the acquisition of a 7,700 sqm office property located in the city centre of Malmö, between Stortorget and Gustav Adolfs torg. The property has earlier been the bank Nordea’s premises.

The Seller is Home Properties and the completion of the transaction occurred on 1 June 2016.

KWM advise Brookfield on their $1.3 billion landmark Wynyard Place Project

King & Wood Mallesons have advised Brookfield on one of their most significant new developments, Wynyard Place.

The Wynyard Place project is set to deliver a dynamic new gateway to Sydney’s central business district and will include 74,000 square metres of premium commercial, retail and restaurant space.

Since their appointment in 2012, KWM have been Brookfield’s key legal counsel which has led to the successful unsolicited proposal for a mixed use development involving a 27 storey state-of-the-art office tower.

NORTHERN VIRGINIA, 26 May 2016 – Hogan Lovells advised KBR, Inc., a global technology, engineering, procurement and construction company serving the hydrocarbons and government services industries, in its $US600 million acquisition of Wyle Inc., a leading provider of specialized engineering and other services primarily to the U.S. government.
Together the two companies will provide full service capabilities for aerospace and defense programs, from research and development, test and evaluation, to operations, maintenance and field logistics.
