Development Agreement With Keepmoat Gets Second Phase Of The Residential Development Underway

Irwin Mitchell has advised CRUVL (Canal Road Urban Village Ltd) on the development agreement with house-builder partner Keepmoat for the residential development of 145 new houses at New Bolton Woods, Yorkshire - a new £150 million mixed-use urban village. This deal represents the second phase of the residential development of the New Bolton Woods project, in which Keepmoat will provide a selection of two, three and four bedroom houses.

Pinsent Masons successfully secures judgment on $US100m currency swap dispute

Pinsent Masons has successfully secured a judgment on behalf of two Philippines state corporations in multi-million dollar dispute with Lehman Brothers Special Financing Inc.

The matter dates back to the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008, when a US$100m currency-swap arrangement was terminated as a result of the bank’s insolvency. The currency swap was part of a wider hedging strategy in respect of bonds.

DLA Piper advises Invesco Real Estate on sale of hotel portfolio

DLA Piper has advised the global real estate investment manager, Invesco Real Estate (IRE), on the sale of a hotel portfolio consisting of four InterCity Hotels across Germany. The sale took place within a structured process as a share deal. The buyer is an Oman based investor's group led by Al Zaman Group of Companies. The parties involved have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has advised Secure Income REIT plc on the acquisitions of two substantial portfolios of assets at a total cost of £436 million. The portfolios comprise a leisure portfolio including Manchester Arena, The Brewery at Chiswell Street, EC1 (the largest catered events space in the City of London), 18 freehold pubs and 17 Travelodge hotels, together with a hotels portfolio consisting of a further 59 Travelodge sites.
