DLA Piper advises on landmark enforcement decision in Saudi Arabia

DLA Piper's Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations team has advised a telecommunications company in an ICC arbitration that has resulted in a landmark enforcement decision in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The decision follows the passing of two separate laws in the Kingdom, which have brought the arbitration and enforcement regime in the Saudi courts more closely in line with international standards.

Seoul:  Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Korea's YG Entertainment on an US$85 million investment by China's Tencent and Weiying Technology.

Globally known for its roster of K-pop artists and entertainers – including K-pop artists such as BigBang, Psy (of Gangnam Style fame) and 2NE1, and numerous actors and actresses, such as Kang Dong Won and Jong Suk Lee – YG Entertainment is a rapidly growing Korean entertainment company listed on the KOSDAQ market of the Korea Exchange.

This transaction will allow them to accelerate their growth and international development. The round was led by Alven Capital, represented by Raffi Kamber who joins the Tinyclues board. Existing investors ISAI, represented by Jean-David Chamboredon, and Elaia Partners, represented by Xavier Lazarus, completed the round and reinforced their positions.

Osborne Clarke advises ProSiebenSat.1 on merger of Aeria Games with Gamigo

The international legal practice Osborne Clarke advised ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE on the merger of its subsidiary Aeria Games with Gamigo AG. Both companies are among the leading European games publishers. As part of the transaction, ProSiebenSat.1 is merging its 100% holding in Aeria Games Europe into Gamigo AG and will become a minority shareholder in the merged publisher with a 33 percent stake.
