CMS advises Comcast on specialist regulatory aspects of Sky deal

International law firm CMS has advised Comcast on specialist media, telecommunications and gambling regulation aspects of its bid for Sky. Comcast, the US-based media and technology company, was the highest bidder for UK-based entertainment and communications company Sky in an auction managed by the UK’s Takeover Panel.

The firm has a longstanding relationship with Comcast and its subsidiary NBCUniversal, advising on channel distribution and TV production matters.

Eversheds Sutherland advises Origami Energy on sale of 19MW of battery storage projects

Eversheds Sutherland has advised market leading technology company Origami Energy on its sale of two battery storage projects to UK-listed Gore Street Energy Fund.

The two battery storage projects, which have a combined capacity of 19MW, are in south east England. The portfolio includes a 10MW front of meter unit in Brentwood and a 9MW behind-the meter unit at Tilbury Port in Essex.

IMCap Partners Acquires Majority Stake in Intact GmbH

The German investment company IMCap Partners acquires a majority stake in the Austrian certification expert Intact GmbH. Intact was founded in southern Styria in 2001 with the objective of supporting companies in their audit and certification as well as quality management processes by providing highly specialized process software solutions. In the meantime, the company has opened offices in Switzerland and the United States.

Moscow—Global law firm Dentons has advised Swiss holographic augmented reality (AR) solution startup, WayRay, on its US$80 million Series C financing round. The round was led by German luxury carmaker, Porsche. In addition, Alibaba, Hyundai, China Merchants Capital, JVCKENWOOD and a consortium of sovereign wealth funds acquired stakes in the company.

A team led by corporate partner Brad Isaac advised Bidstack Ltd throughout the acquisition by Kin Group (now Bidstack Group plc), formerly a wellness tech company, and on the accompanying placing by Bidstack Group to raise £3.5 million.
