Baker McKenzie assists Nexi with the acquisition of Sparkling 18

Baker McKenzie assisted Nexi, a leading company in payment services management, with the acquisition of Sparkling 18. Sparkling 18 is an Italian fintech company that has been operating in the sector of new digital payments since 2013, and is one of only seven companies in the world included by MasterCard among its Platinum Digital Vendors. The Baker McKenzie team was led by Partner Alberto Fornari with Associate Sara Belotti.

Baker McKenzie and Mazzoni Regoli Cariello Pagani assist Sky Italia with Open Fiber deal

The law firms Mazzoni Regoli Carriello Pagni and Baker McKenzie assisted Sky Italia with negotiating an agreement between Sky Italia and Open Fiber for the launch of a fiber service starting from summer 2019. The agreement with Open Fiber aims to "accelerate the growth of fiber and pay TV in the long term," alongside Sky’s existing satellite offer. The accord will give Sky Italia access to the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) ultrafast broadband network Open Fiber is laying in more than 271 Italian towns and cities by 2022.

SK Telecom in $500 Million Offering

Cleary Gottlieb represented SK Telecom Co., Ltd. in its Rule 144A/Reg S offering of $500 million 3.75 percent notes due 2023.

The notes were listed on the Singapore Exchange. The offering priced on April 9, 2018, and closed on April 16, 2018. BofA Merrill Lynch, BNP PARIBAS, Goldman Sachs International, J.P. Morgan, Mizuho Securities, and Standard Chartered Bank were the joint bookrunners.

TLT secures VC investment for digital campaigning company

As technology plays an ever increasing role in political and issues-based campaigning, TLT has advised on a significant venture capital investment for Bristol-headquartered technology start-up, Poli, from UK-based technology investment funds, AI Seed and Force Over Mass.

Poli uses the reach and immediacy of social messaging platforms to improve opinion polling, recruiting larger, more representative panels and engaging with them more efficiently. It was founded in 2016 with high profile polling errors from both sides of the Atlantic fresh in the memory.

Freeths supports Holovis expansion plans for Asia

The Corporate team at Freeths has recently advised Holovis International Limited and its shareholders in connection with a multi-million pound investment from asset management company Road King.

Road King, a Hong Kong based firm with its core business including investment, development, operation and management though Asia, now owns a minority stake in Holovis.

The Freeths team was led by Ateeq Ahmed and John Heaphy with specialist advice being provided by employment partner Rebecca Sawbridge, tax associate Richard Ferguson and corporate solicitor Amy Harron.

Herbert Smith Freehills advises NEXTDC Limited on its A$297 million institutional placement and share purchase plan

Herbert Smith Freehills is delighted to have advised NEXTDC Limited (NEXTDC) on its A$297 million fully underwritten institutional placement and non-underwritten share purchase plan, announced to the ASX on 17 April 2018 (Offer).

The institutional placement consists of a A$147 million general placement to institutional investors and a A$150 million cornerstone placement to UniSuper.

With more than 200 consultants, Soft Company offers services in the banking, finance and insurance sectors. It also proposes solutions in the development of complex applications and in very specific Data Intelligence domains.

Dentons advising Electroneum on patent request for technology for instant crypto transactions and crypto subscriptions

Dentons is advising Electroneum Ltd, the early stage technology company aiming to transform the world of cryptocurrency, and which has filed a patent application for a technology that combines blockchain, cryptocurrency and mobile ubiquity.

Electroneum has developed architecture that it says will allow it to do two new things: 1) instant cryptocurrency payments, and 2) cryptocurrency subscription payments.
