Naspers's $1 Billion Debt Offering

Cravath represented Myriad International Holdings B.V., a subsidiary of Naspers Limited, in connection with its $1 billion 144A/Reg. S debt offering, guaranteed by Naspers. Naspers is a global internet and entertainment group and one of the largest technology investors in the world. The notes were listed on the Irish Stock Exchange. The transaction closed on July 6, 2017.

The Cravath team included partner David Mercado, associate Yannick Adler and foreign associate attorney Christian Berg Meland.

Squire Patton Boggs Advises Media iQ on Investment From ECI Partners

Squire Patton Boggs has advised leading global analytics and technology company Media iQ on a significant investment from private equity firm ECI Partners, in which ECI will acquire a minority stake in the business.

Founded in 2010 by Gurman Hundal and Lee Puri, Media iQ is ranked fourth in the Sunday Times International Track 200 as one of the fastest-growing international companies in the UK, with 350 employees across 12 offices globally, including in the UK, US, India, Canada, Australia and Germany.

Hogan Lovells Helps CNN to Secure First-Ever Part 107 Waiver for Closed Set Filming Drone Operations

On behalf of its client CNN Aerial Imagery and Reporting (CNN AIR), Hogan Lovells announced today that CNN has received the first Part 107 waiver issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to allow small unmanned aircraft systems (“UAS,” or drone) operations over people for closed-set motion picture and television filming. Previously, the Hogan Lovells team assisted CNN to secure the FAA’s first-ever waiver to fly UAS over members of the public for media coverage, including newsgathering and reporting activities.

White & Case Advises Ingenico Group on €1.5 Billion Acquisition of Bambora

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Ingenico Group, the global leader in seamless payments, on its €1.5 billion acquisition of Bambora, a fast-growing global player in the payments industry, from private equity firm Nordic Capital.

The transaction is the largest M&A deal in Sweden in 2017 to date, according to Mergermarket, and is expected to close by the end of 2017 subject to approval from the relevant regulatory and antitrust authorities.

A team led by Dr. Pär Johansson of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised GoDaddy Inc. on the sale of the PlusServer-group which is based in Cologne. The PlusServer-group offers webhosting and provides individual managed-hosting-solutions and hybride Cloud solutions for business customers. GoDaddy Inc. had acquired PlusServer-group in 2017 in connection with the acquisition of the Host Europe-group.

International law firm CMS has advised British technology business, Virtualstock in the completion of its strategic funding round with leading European venture capital firm, Notion Capital. The funding has raised $6m which will support Virtualstock in the acceleration of its growth plans into its core retail and health sectors, as well as support its expansion into new geographical markets including the United States.

The prospectus received the visa from the French financial markets authority (Autorité des marchés financiers) on June 23, 2017 and the settlement of the offer took place on July 10, 2017.
