Herbert Smith Freehills advises Oaktree on its largest acquisition in Spain and Portugal

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Oaktree on its acquisition of the entire Spanish and Portuguese portfolio of assets (REOs and shares) and loans of FMS Wertmanagement Anstalt des öffentlichen Rechts.

The transaction was structured through the purchase of the loan portfolio held by FMS and the direct acquisition of the real estate assets held by FMS's debtors and their shares. The underlying assets acquired include the emblematic C/ Gran Vía 68 building in Madrid as well as a factory outlet centre and the retail warehouse located at Mega Park in Barakaldo.

DLA Piper advised Australian Fresh Milk Holdings on AU$80M Moxey Farm acquisition

DLA Piper advised a consortium comprising Freedom Foods Group, Leppington Pastoral Company and New Hope Dairy, in the establishment of Australian Fresh Milk Holdings Pty Ltd (AFMH), an incorporated joint venture formed to invest in intensive dairy farming in Australia. The firm also advised the joint venture on its initial investment, the acquisition of one of Australia's largest single-site dairy operations, Moxey Farms, for approximately AU$80 million.

As part of the transaction the Moxey family will take an interest in the AFMH joint venture.

Hengeler Mueller advises Oaktree on acquisition of real estate loan portfolio from Hypothekenbank Frankfurt

Funds advised by Oaktree have acquired a commercial real estate loan portfolio with a face value of approximately €700m from Hypothekenbank Frankfurt, Commerzbank's real estate lending subsidiary formerly known as Eurohypo. The portfolio sold primarily comprises non-performing loans secured on German real estate.

Herbert Smith Freehills have advised Credit Agricole Assurances, in partnership with Caisse régionale de Crédit Agricole Centre Est, in connection with the acquisition of Grand Hotel-Dieu de Lyon from Eiffage. At the same time, a management agreement was signed with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) for the operation of the future five-star hotel: the InterContinental Lyon Hotel-Dieu.

Setterwalls advisor to Catena AB (publ) in connection with the acquisition of two logistics properties

Setterwalls advised Catena in two property acquisitions.

The first acquisition concerns a logistics property in Jönkoping with a logistics warehouse of more than 29,000 square meters and with an underlying property value of SEK 60 million. The second property acquisition concerns a newly built logistics property located in Kristianstad and a 10-year lease was signed with Van Dieren Sweden AB.

Clifford Chance advises Amundi Real Estate on the acquisition of office building complex "88north"

Clifford Chance advised French institutional investor Amundi Real Estate on the acquisition of the office building complex "88north" in Munich. The acquisition by way of a share deal was carried out through the open-ended OPCI Fonds who already holds investments in Germany.

Amundi Real Estate was represented by L'Etoile Properties, an investment and asset managing company. "88 north" was sold by the joing venture between Hammer AG and Competo Capital Partners GmbH. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Stephenson Harwood advises Schroder UK Real Estate Fund on £150 million Hammersmith property

Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised Schroder UK Real Estate Fund on the acquisition of mixed-use assets in Hammersmith, London, from the Matterhorn Palos Partnership for in excess of £150 million.

The acquisition comprises the Kings Mall shopping centre, the Kings Mall car park and One Lyric Square, an adjoining self-contained office building. The Kings Mall has undergone significant refurbishment over the last few years and has over 40 retail tenants, including H&M, Sainsburys, River Island and Primark, in addition to a variety of restaurants and cafes.

Ashurst advises ERG Renew S.p.A. on the acquisition of a 63.4 MW wind portfolio in France

Ashurst advises ERG Renew S.p.A., a major Italian wind energy operator and one of the leading wind companies in Europe, in the context of the acquisition of a 100% equity interest in four French companies owned by Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund (MEIF).

Through this transaction, ERG Renew takes a further step into the French wind market by acquiring six wind farms with a total capacity of 63.4 MW, which entered into operation between 2005 and 2008, and doubles its installed capacity from 64 MW to 127 MW.

Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co advises Empiric Student Property plc on £41 million acquisition

Empiric Student Property plc (Empiric) has completed its first corporate acquisition, at a value of £41.6 million, with support from international law firm Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co.

The deal, which also marks Empiric's largest portfolio transaction to date, sees it acquire the freeholds on seven operational, direct-let, premium student properties - comprising a total of 502 rooms - from Urban Sleep.
