Clifford Chance advises Huaneng Power International on US$730 million share placement

Clifford Chance has advised Huaneng Power International on its US$730 million placement of new shares. CITIC CLSA Securities was the sole placing agent. Huaneng Power International, tri-listed in New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai, is one of the largest power companies in the world.

The team was co-led by Fang Liu and Virginia Lee who were supported by senior associates Tianning Xiang and Corey Zhang, and associates Stanley Tan and Claire Cao.

Stephenson Harwood advises on IPO of Japanese equities investment trust

Stephenson Harwood has advised Coupland Cardiff on the successful IPO of its listed Japanese equities investment trust.

The new investment trust, CC Japan Income & Growth Trust plc, will invest in the equities of Japanese listed companies. At launch it will be the only listed dedicated Japanese equity income investment trust.

Managed by Coupland Cardiff Asset Management LLP, an award winning Asian/Japanese investment management firm, the new trust aims to provide shareholders with dividend income combined with capital growth.

White & Case LLP has advised a syndicate of banks led by Natixis and BNP Paribas, as Global Coordinators, Joint Lead Managers and Joint Bookrunners, and HSBC Bank plc and J.P. Morgan Securities plc as Joint Bookrunners, on Parrot's €300 million right issue.

Founded in 1994 by Henri Seydoux and listed on the regulated market of Euronext Paris since 2006, Parrot creates, develops and markets advanced technology wireless products, particularly civil and professional drones.

Davis Polk Advises Postal and Savings Bank of China on Its Sale of Shares to Strategic Investors

Davis Polk advised Postal and Savings Bank of China (“PSBC”) in connection with its issuance and sale of over $7 billion worth of shares to a group of strategic investors. The investors include six international financial institutions UBS, JPMorgan, DBS, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Temasek and IFC, two state-owned enterprises China Life and China Telecom, as well as two Chinese Internet giants Ant Financial (an affiliate of Alibaba) and Tencent. The transaction also encompasses multiple levels of strategic collaboration between PSBC and the investors.
