A team from Clifford Chance Amsterdam has advised Rabobank on the financing of a student housing development in Groningen, acquired by KKR and Round Hill Capital. KKR and Round Hill Capital (“Round Hill”) recently announced that their joint venture acquired the land and is forward-funding the development of a 698-bed purpose-built student accommodation (“PBSA”) scheme in Groningen, the Netherlands.

Macfarlanes advises Realstar Group on two financing deals totalling £100m for BTR developments in London

Macfarlanes has acted for long-standing client Realstar Group, a Canadian real estate investment company, on two financing deals for BTR (build to rent) developments in Wembley and New Cross, London.

Macfarlanes advised on a £55m development facility to assist an affiliate of Realstar in financing the £100m construction of the Chesterfield House development in Wembley. This project will be formed of two BTR towers containing a mix of 239 apartments, retail space, a public square and a community centre.

Global law firm White & Case has advised the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Société Générale, Singapore Branch, as mandated lead arrangers, underwriters and bookrunners, on a US$120 million reserve-based term facility provided to Jadestone Energy (Eagle) Pty Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of Jadestone Energy Inc.) for the acquisition of the Montara offshore oil project (including FPSO).

Baker McKenzie has advised Casablanca Finance City (CFC) in the context of the issuance of a 355 million dirhams green bond.

This operation will allow to finance the extension of the CFC real estate programme, which aims to obtain international LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). The issuance was completed through a private placement with the largest institutional investors of the Kingdom of Morocco, after having obtained authorisation from the Moroccan capital markets authority (AMMC).

Clifford Chanced acted for 174 Power Global, an affiliate of the Hanwha Group, as sponsor in the project financing for Laguna Solar, a 101 MW solar photovoltaic plant in Matamoros, Coahuila, Mexico.

The $74m facility was provided by Bancomext and the Korea Development Bank.

Partner Fabricio Longhin led the Firm's team, which included senior associate Alberto Haito and associates Alan Sakar Azuara and Eli Keene.

White & Case Advises Séché Environnement on a €130 Million Euro PP Bond Issuance

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Séché Environnement on a Euro PP bond issuance for a total of €130 million by way of private placement. Séché Environnement is a French company specializing in the reclamation and disposal of household and industrial waste.

Séché issued  a 7-year bond, with an annual coupon of 3.25%, and is one of the most important Euro PP transactions so far this year.
