Ashurst advises on Life Company Consolidation Group's €409 million acquisition of Generali Worldwide and Generali Link

International law firm Ashurst is advising the lenders on new acquisition facilities supporting Life Company Consolidation Group's ("LCCG") agreement with Generali to acquire the entire shareholdings in Generali Worldwide Insurance Company Limited ("Generali Worldwide") and Generali Link Limited ("Generali Link).

Generali will receive approximately €409 million as base consideration and a contingent consideration of up to €10 million to be paid at completion, for the sale of its stakes in Generali Worldwide and Generali Link.

DLA Piper advises InterContinental Hotels on first Kimpton Hotel opening in Germany

DLA Piper has advised one of the world’s leading hotel companies, the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), on the opening of its first Kimpton hotel in Germany. Opening in 2023, the hotel will be situated within a listed building on the Junghofstrasse in Frankfurt’s city centre, and will form part of the company's rapidly expanding Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brand.

Clifford Chance Badea has advised ROCKWOOL Romania during negotiations with CON-A Sibiu of the construction contract for a factory in Ploiesti, an initial investment of 50-million Euro that will represent the Danish group's first stone wool factory of Romania.

Baker McKenzie successfully advised Shawcorp Investments on its agreement to sell  Modular Building Systems (MBS) to Fleetwood Corporation for $34 million.
MBS is based in New South Wales and specialises in the manufacture and installation of prefabricated modular buildings. MBS is one of two builders on a panel appointed to build modular cells for the NSW Government. MBS also has the Australian rights to use all patented steel prison cell designs belonging to US company Maximum Security Systems for 10 years.

KWM advises Bluescope on PPA to directly underwrite renewable generation

KWM has advised BlueScope on entering a power purchase agreement (PPA) with ESCO Pacific for the 133MWac Finley Solar Farm, the fifth major corporate PPA which KWM has recently advised on and which has been announced to the market.
 
ESCO Pacific will invest $250 million dollars into the project, which will comprise of approximately 500,000 solar panels – generating energy for approximately 60,000 homes.
 

K&L Gates Advises Vietjet on Nearly $20 Billion Boeing, Airbus Aircraft Orders

London - A team of lawyers from global law firm K&L Gates’ London and Singapore offices has advised longtime client and successful Vietnamese low-cost airline Vietjet on the order of a total of a further 150 aircraft announced during the Farnborough International Airshow 2018. Consisting of 100 737 MAX airplanes (80 737 MAX 10s and 20 737 MAX 8s) from Boeing and 50 A321neo Airbus aircraft from Airbus, the orders are valued at close to $20 billion at current list prices.
