Clyde & Co advises Fortum on major renewable energy plant for North East of England

Clyde & Co has advised clean energy provider Fortum O&M (UK) Limited on its contract negotiations to operate and maintain the world's biggest biomass power station in the UK.

Clyde & Co assisted with negotiations on the operation and maintenance (O&M) agreement to operate the facility and associated documents.

The 299MW renewable energy plant will be based in Teesside in the North East of England and will be constructed by MGT Teesside.  Macquarie is the lead equity sponsor and financial advisor for the £650 million investment project.

Firm Advises Perform Group on Historic USD2 Billion Broadcast Deal

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised UK-based Perform Group on securing rights to broadcast all league tournaments for Japan's top three soccer divisions. The 10 year deal (approximately USD2 billion) starts from the 2017 season and is the first time that all games from all leagues will be broadcast in Japan, available on Perform Group’s internet TV service, DAZN.

The flagship project "InnovationCity" is driving climate-friendly structural change in the Ruhr region. Innovation City Management GmbH, wmr, WiN Emscher Lippe, and Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy are developing energy modernization concepts for 20 selected communities in the Ruhr region. The idea is modeled after the Model City | Bottrop pilot project, where the energy modernization rate has increased to 3% per year, far above the national average of 0.8%.
 

Ashurst advises AMR on scheme of arrangement

Ashurst has advised Asian Mineral Resources Limited (AMR) on its scheme of arrangement with Kasbah Resources Limited (KAS), worth approximately A$27 million.

KAS and AMR have entered into a Scheme Implementation Agreement pursuant to which KAS will acquire all of the issued capital of KAS under to a scheme of arrangement pursuant to Part 5.1 of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). The expected completion date will be in November 2016.

A team led by Dr. Christoph Gringel, Partner at business law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, advised savedroid AG, a Frankfurt-based FinTech company, on the launch of an intelligent savings app and the related cooperation with Wirecard Bank AG. The savedroid app breaks new ground in mobile banking by allowing users to automatically save money in everyday life. In the press, it is already being hailed as 'Germany's first intelligent savings app.'

Dentons’ Public Procurement Team advised Doosan Lentjes Gmbh in a tender procedure for the construction of a flue gas desulphurization and ash distribution installation for Polska Grupa Energetyczna in Pomorzany. We cooperated with the venture partner Polimex Energetyka and assisted in drafting the bid documentation. We also represented the client in a successful appeal brought before the National Appeal Chamber (KIO), which paved the way for the contract going to Doosan Lentjes Gmbh and Polimex Energetyka.
