Simpson Thacher Represents GSO Capital Partners LP in Establishing $5 Billion Capital Solutions Fund

Simpson Thacher represented GSO Capital Partners LP (“GSO”), the credit division of The Blackstone Group L.P. (NYSE: BX), in the establishment of its second “capital solutions” fund, GSO Capital Solutions Fund II LP (“GSO CSF II”).  GSO CSF II raised $5 billion of total capital commitments and will focus primarily on providing “rescue financing” to distressed companies primarily in North America and Western Europe.

Hill Dickinson successfully completes £1.3 million investment deal

The Liverpool office of Hill Dickinson has acted on behalf of Biofortuna Limited to secure a £1.3 million investment as part of its expansion within the molecular diagnostic product market.

Led by Craig Scott, Partner and Richard McKay, Legal Director, the Corporate team advised the molecular diagnostics company during its fourth round of investment. The new funds will enable Wirral-based Biofortuna to expand its freeze drying analysis and manufacturing capability to support both its custom service clients as well as the USA launch of its SSPGo HLA range of products.

DAC Beachcroft Advises Finance Wales Group on Major Boost for Tees Valley Regional Economy

International law firm DAC Beachcroft has advised the Finance Wales Group on the new Tees Valley Catalyst Fund, which will be managed by the Group’s FW Capital subsidiary.

Backed by the Regional Growth Fund, the Tees Valley Catalyst Fund is the first of its kind in the UK. It will back companies based in the Tees Valley bidding for contracts larger than they can currently bid for.

Baker & McKenzie is advising KASIKORNBANK Public Company Limited, as a financial advisor to Impact Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Bangkok Land Public Company Limited), on the establishment of Impact Growth REIT. Its underlying assets will include Impact Exhibition Centre, Impact Challenger Hall, Impact Forum, and Impact Arena, one of the largest exhibition centers in Southeast Asia. Baker & McKenzie's roles also include advising on the establishment of the REIT Manager company and duties of the trustee.

WFW advises PNE WIND AG on the acquisition of the Siemens’ stake in WKN AG

Watson, Farley & Williams (“WFW”), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that it has advised PNE WIND AG on the acquisition of approximately 29.33% of shares in WKN AG (“WKN”) from Siemens Project Ventures GmbH (“Siemens”).

The acquisition of shares from Siemens sees PNE WIND AG increase its  stake in WKN to 82.75% and completes the acquisition of the majority shareholding in WKN, Husum, Germany.
