Clayton Utz has acted as Australian legal counsel to Danish fund manager Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) on its partnership with Australia's Offshore Energy Ltd (Offshore Energy) to develop the proposed A$8 billion 2GW "Star of the South" project - Australia's first offshore windfarm, and the country's largest ever windfarm project.  Watson Farley Williams acted as CIP's global counsel with Bruun & Hjejle acting as CIP's Danish counsel, both having worked with CIP on numerous offshore wind projects.

Offshore has entered into a formal partnership with Danish infrastructure fund Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners to develop the 'Star of the South' offshore wind farm.

WFW advises Italian shipowners on strategic partnership with Greek shipping group Gigilinis

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW“) advised three leading Italian shipowners -Rimorchiatori Mediterranei, Gesmar and Fratelli Neri – on their partnership agreement with Thessaloniki-based Greek maritime operator Gigilinis Shipping Group. The deal closed on 29 November.

The deal represents a strategic milestone in Italian ship owners’ expansion into the Greek and broader Eastern Mediterranean markets, most notably into the key port of Thessaloniki.

MRC helps to establish the UK Dementia Research Institute

Eversheds Sutherland has advised the Medical Research Council (MRC) on its joint venture with charity partners Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK to form the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI).

The MRC and charity partners will invest £250m in the new national institute in response to the Prime Minister's 2020 Challenge on Dementia report.
