King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin advise Salamanca Group on acquisition of Investec Trust

King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin has advised Salamanca Group, the Merchant Banking and Operational Risk Management business, on its acquisition of Investec Trust Group (Investec Trust), from Investec Bank plc. (Investec).

The complex multi-jurisdictional acquisition, which required King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin to work with legal advisers in the British Virgin Islands, Mauritius, Jersey, Switzerland and South Africa to obtain the necessary consents, was granted regulatory approval on Friday 31st January.

Pinsent Masons advises Beijing Jangho on Acquisition of majority interests in Steve Leung Interior Design Business

Pinsent Masons has advised Beijing Jangho Curtain Wall Co., Ltd. ("Beijing Jangho") on its acquisition of 70% interests in Steve Leung Designers Limited ("SLD"), an internationally renowned interior design company with award-winning projects and headquartered in Hong Kong, for HK$350 million (equivalent to approximately £26.95 million).

Wragge & Co advises United Biscuits on Nigerian acquisition

Wragge & Co's Corporate team has advised United Biscuits on its acquisition of a majority interest in a Nigerian biscuit producer for an undisclosed sum.

The deal is a strategic investment for the biscuit, snack and confectionery manufacturer and its second overseas investment in six months. United Biscuits which owns among others the McVitie's, Jacob's and Go-Ahead brands, is well established in Africa having had a presence in Nigeria for several decades.

DLA Piper advises TÜV Rheinland Group on the acquisition of NIFE

DLA Piper has advised a subsidary of TÜV Rheinland Group on the acquisition of NIFE, the Indian market leader in technical vocational training. The seller is company founder and sole proprietor Maliakal Varkey Thomas.

NIFE, founded in 1992, is the leading Indian institute for technical vocational training. Its 75 training centres distributed throughout the subcontinent offer diploma courses in the areas of fire and safety, lift technology and fibre optics.

Clifford Chance advises Coca-Cola on the acquisition of all shares in Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke AG

Clifford Chance has advised European Refreshments, Ireland, a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company, Atlanta/USA, on the acquisition of all shares in the unlisted Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke AG (CCE AG), Berlin/Germany, not yet held by The Coca-Cola Company. The stake of around 17 per cent of the shares was previously held by shareholders of the former German Coca-Cola bottlers.

Travers Smith advises Innovation Group on the acquisition of LAS Claims Management

Travers Smith, led by corporate partner Richard Spedding is advising The Innovation Group plc (LSE:TIG) on its £35m acquisition of LAS Claims Management Ltd, a Gresham Private Equity portfolio company.

The acquisition, announced this morning, will be funded by a proposed £65m equity offering, and is expected to complete in March 2014.

King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin advised Eurazeo PME on the acquisition of the French company Vignal Systems. At the end of the closing, Eurazeo PME will own 71% of the capital, alongside management.

Eurazeo PME is the subsidiary of Eurazeo dedicated to majority investments in profitable French SMEs with an enterprise value of less than €200 million.

Callcredit Information Group Acquired by GTCR from Vitruvian

Callcredit Information Group Ltd., an innovative provider of consumer  data solutions,  software and analytics, has announced a transaction whereby GTCR, a leading Chicago-based private equity firm, has partnered with management to acquire the company.  Callcredit employs around 1,000 professionals in the U.K. and has operations in Japan, China, Dubai and Lithuania.

Squire Sanders advised shareholders on the transaction. The deal team was led by partners Paul Mann and Jonathan Jones from the firm’s Leeds office.

Ashurst advises Oaktree Capital Management on the acquisition of Millgate Developments

Ashurst advised the majority owners of Countryside Properties (funds advised and managed byr Oaktree Capital Management, L.P.), on the recent acquisition of Millgate Developments, a leading premium housebuilder in the South East of England. Following completion of the acquisition Countryside and Millgate will be merged.

Ashurst advised Oaktree when it acquired Countryside Properties in April 2013.
