Travers Smith advises the management shareholders of Burton's Biscuits on its sale to a new company backed by Ontario Teachers Pension Plan

Travers Smith Senior Partner, Chris Hale, and private equity partner Edmund Reed are leading a team advising the management shareholders of biscuit maker Burton's Biscuits on its sale to a new company backed by Canadian private equity firm Ontario Teachers Pension Plan ("Teachers").

The Travers Smith team is also advising the management team of Burton's Biscuits on its new equity arrangements with Teachers.  The team includes Corporate associates Hannah Sher and Jo Strycharczyk, Tax partner Kathleen Russ and senior Tax associate Hannah Manning.

With the acquisition by Minkabu, operator of renowned platforms such as minkabu.jp and caiku.com with approx. 4 million monthly unique users combined, the leading global platform for investment-related social media is established.

Shoosmiths helps Park Holidays seal £172m share sale

Shoosmiths has helped a leading holiday park operator complete the sale of its entire issued share capital in a deal worth £172m.

Real estate specialists at the national law firm advised client Park Holidays UK Limited on the property elements of the deal.

Led by partner Lisa Williams, Shoosmiths' Milton Keynes real estate team has particular knowledge of holiday caravan and chalet parks, and the property and planning issues associated with them.

Simpson Thacher Represents Blackstone in Sale of Mivisa Group to Crown Holdings

Simpson Thacher is representing an affiliate of certain investment funds managed by affiliates of The Blackstone Group L.P., N+1 Mercapital and management in connection with the sale of Mivisa Envases, SAU, a leading Spanish manufacturer of two- and three-piece food cans and ends, to Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK).

The transaction is subject to receipt of required competition law approvals and is expected to close in 2014.

A cross-border team led by Prague-based partner Alex Cook is advising Telefónica, S.A. on the sale of a 65.9% shareholding in Telefónica Czech Republic, a.s., including its 100%-owned subsidiary Telefónica Slovakia, s.r.o. (Telefónica CR / Telefónica SK), to investment firm PPF Group for a total consideration of CZK 63.6 billion (€2,467 million).

Macfarlanes advises on CBRE Group acquisition of Norland Managed Services

Macfarlanes has acted on the sale of Norland Managed Services Ltd, a leading provider of commercial building and technical engineering services in the UK and Ireland, to commercial real estate services and investment firm CBRE Group.

CBRE Group has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Norland Managed Services Ltd for £250m, with up to £50 million of additional deferred contingent consideration.

The Macfarlanes team comprised partner Robert Boyle, senior solicitor Justin Hope and solicitor Julian Thatcher.

Macfarlanes advises on Alexander Mann Solutions sale to New Mountain Capital for £260m

Macfarlanes has advised on the sale of high-end recruitment firm Alexander Mann Solutions to private equity firm New Mountain Capital in a deal worth €315m.

Alexander Mann Solutions was founded in 1996 by Irish entrepreneur Rosaleen Blair, who will remain as chief executive of the company. New Mountain has bought the recruitment company from Graphite Capital, a UK private equity firm which backed a £100m management buyout in 2007.
