Global law firm Reed Smith announced that Marianne Schaffner has joined as a partner in its IP, Technology & Data practice in the firm’s Paris office.

She joins as the head of the Intellectual Property team in Paris and of the Patent practice in Europe. Two associates will also be joining the firm.

Marianne was previously a partner in the Paris office of Dentons, where she was European head of patent litigation and national co-head of the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Group.  

Adrian joins from White & Case, where he has worked for over a decade in its energy, infrastructure, project and asset finance practice across its London, Moscow, Doha, Hong Kong and Beijing offices. He has a broad range of experience in project finance, banking, corporate and capital markets transactions, with a particular focus on oil and gas and petrochemical projects.

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has demonstrated its ongoing commitment to expanding its offering in the financial markets practice with the arrival of a new partner. Michaela Sopp (49) joined the firm’s Munich office on Monday 01 July as a partner in the financial markets practice.

Michaela brings over 20 years’ experience to the firm with a particular expertise in finance, ranging from real estate finance, acquisition finance, corporate finance and restructuring among others. Michaela joins the firm from Linklaters, where she was a partner in the banking practice.

DLA Piper announced that Vivek Chavan has joined the firm's Real Estate practice as a partner in Northern California, based out of the San Francisco office.
