PARTNER MOVES - WILLKIE EXPANDS PRIVATE EQUITY PRACTICE WITH MATTHEW RIZZO AND JESSICA SHERIDAN

Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP has announced that Matthew J. Rizzo and Jessica A. Sheridan have joined the firm as corporate partners in the Private Equity Practice Group. Mr. Rizzo, based in New York, was most recently a partner and a practice area team leader of the Private Equity practice at Sidley Austin LLP. Ms. Sheridan was also previously a partner at Sidley.

PARTNER MOVES - Norton Rose Fulbright expands global cyber risk group with three notable lawyers

Norton Rose Fulbright has bolstered its Global Cyber Risk Group with the addition of three prominent privacy and cybersecurity lawyers: Chris Cwalina in Washington, DC, Jeewon Serrato in San Francisco and Steven Roosa in New York. Cwalina joins as the firm’s Global Co-Head of Cyber Risk and Serrato as its Head of Data Protection, Privacy and Cybersecurity in the United States. Roosa will head up the firm’s data lab, enhancing Norton Rose Fulbright’s Global Risk Advisory offering.

WFW advises banks on “Kosten” Argentine onshore wind project financing

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH and Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau on the US$ 31.7m financing of the Kosten onshore wind farm project located in Escalante in Argentina’s Chubut province. The financing is covered by an ECA guarantee from Germany’s Euler Hermes and is one of the first non-recourse project financing transactions in Argentina after the last change of government.

WFW advises PSA Sines on Portuguese container terminal refinancing

Watson Farley & Williams LLP (“WFW”) advised PSA Sines – Terminais de Contentores S.A. (“PSA Sines”) in connection with a  term and revolving credit facility made available to it by a syndicate of four Portuguese banks led by Banco BPI S.A. as agent. The facility was made available to PSA Sines for the purpose of refinancing its container terminal at the port of Sines which, handling 1.69 MTEUs in 2017, is the largest of its kind in Portugal.

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised Enterprize Energy Pte. Ltd. (“EEPL”) on its strategic joint venture investment agreements in the Taiwanese offshore wind sector with Japan’s Mitsui & Co (“Mitsui”). As part of the agreements, Mitsui has acquired a 50% stake in EEPL subsidiary Yushan Energy Company Ltd (“YECL”), which owns a 40% interest in the Hai Long offshore wind development in the Taiwan Strait between that Island and mainland China.

Dentons Morocco has advised Cantor, Moroccan insurance companies Atlanta and Sanad, Inmaa Capital and Orion Holding on the disposal of a majority stake of the share capital and voting rights of Cantor Hôtels to ONOMO Group. Cantor Hôtels owns a portfolio of six hotels in the cities of Casablanca, Rabat and Tangier totaling 740 rooms.

DLA Piper has advised the lenders in connection with the financing of the Rv. 3/Rv. 25 project in Norway, worth NOK2.6 billion, about EUR270 million.

Skanska, a leading development and construction company in the Nordics, has signed the project agreement and reached financial close with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) for the financing, design, construction, operation and maintenance of a new 25 kilometre national road, the Rv. 3/Rv. 25 between Løten and Elverum, in the county of Hedmark, Norway.

DLA Piper advises Helaba on the financing of the acquisition of a German office portfolio

DLA Piper has advised Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen (Helaba) on the financing of the acquisition of an office portfolio by Corpus Sireo Real Estate. The seller is Swiss Life and the parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price and the amount of financing.

The 108,000 square metres portfolio financed by Helaba consists of eleven office properties located in Hanover, Essen, Düsseldorf, Neuss, Cologne, Mannheim, Oberursel, Neu-Isenburg and Frankfurt. With an area of 98,200 square metres, office space accounts for the largest share.
