Clifford Chance acted as New York counsel to the Colombian development bank Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional S.A. ("FDN") (as lender) in connection with the structuring and negotiation of a New York law-governed COP600 billion (approx. US$220 million) loan facility to the Inter-American Investment Bank ("IDB") and the Inter-American Investment Corporation ("IDB Invest").

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has fielded a cross border team to advise BNP Paribas, HSBC Bank plc, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., a member of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and Santander UK plc as Active Bookrunners in the syndication of Glencore's refinancing of its Short-term Revolving Credit Facilities. This refinancing has increased the size of the facilities from US$7.335 billion to US$9.085 billion, with final maturity to occur in May 2020.

Dentons advises Paracelsus clinics on restructuring and successful sale in self-administration

Global law firm Dentons has advised Paracelsus-Kliniken Deutschland GmbH & Co. KGaA on its restructuring in the context of insolvency proceedings in self-administration, and its sale to Porterhouse Health AG.  In coordination with the self-administration and the administrator, Dr. Rainer Eckert, the creditors' committee of Paracelsus-Kliniken Deutschland has unanimously supported the transfer agreement with Porterhouse Health and the submission of the insolvency plan.

CMS advises Berenberg on first-time offer of scrip dividend by DIC Asset AG

Frankfurt/Main – SDAX-listed property company DIC Asset AG has offered a dividend distribution in equity form for the first time. Its shareholders exercised this right to acquire more than 30 million shares, representing an acceptance rate of around 44% of the eligible shares. A total of 1,948,501 new shares were issued.

CMS advises Stadtwerke Bielefeld on successful acquisition of wind farm in Hesse

Hamburg – Municipal utility company Stadtwerke Bielefeld GmbH (SWB) has taken another successful step in its programme of investment in renewable energy by acquiring a wind farm in the town of Schlüchtern, in the federal state of Hesse. The wind farm was built and sold by developer wpd onshore GmbH & Co KG, working in association with Renertec GmbH. Operational responsibility for the wind farm will continue to be handled by wpd. The purchase price of the facility was not disclosed.

CMS advises consortium led by Commerzbank AG on successful renewal and increase of Continental AG’s commercial paper programme

Frankfurt/Main – Hanover-based Continental AG has renewed and expanded its issuance platform for short-term bonds. Continental AG’s commercial paper programme now has a maximum value of EUR 1.5 billion. Commerzbank AG is acting as arranger and dealer. The dealer consortium also includes Bank of America, Merrill Lynch International Limited, Bayerische Landesbank, BNP Paribas, DZ BANK AG, ING Bank N.V., Landesbank Baden-Württemberg and The Royal Bank of Scotland plc (trading as NatWest Markets).
