Dentons Secures Another Major Victory In Major Competitor Patent Infringement Case For Optical Networking Client In Finisar v. Nistica Case: Appellate Court Reaffirms

Dentons secured a resounding victory for client Nistica, Inc. in one of the largest patent cases litigated in recent years in the U.S district courts, Finisar Corp. v. Nistica, Inc., Case No. 5:13-cv-03445. On April 5, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals in Washington, DC ruled unanimously affirming Nistica’s complete victory in two jury trials in this large 6-patent case. The Federal Circuit’s order came within 24-hours of the oral argument.

DLA Piper advises Pacific Energy on acquisition of Contract Power

DLA Piper has advised power generation specialist Pacific Energy Limited on its AU$90 million acquisition of Contract Power Group.

The transaction involves Pacific Energy acquiring 100% of the shares in Contract Power and certain assets or other related entities for AU$90 million, comprising AU$85 million cash and AU$5 million in Pacific Energy shares.

DLA Piper is advising Atlas Iron Limited (ASX: AGO) on its agreement with Mineral Resources Limited (ASX: MIN) to combine by way of scheme of arrangement in a deal that values the iron ore miner at AU$297.6 million.

DLA Piper has advised Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG on its sale of L´Orange GmbH to Woodward Inc. Rolls-Royce plc. and Woodward Inc. jointly announced today that they have signed an agreement for Woodward to acquire L´Orange and all its operations located in Germany, the United States and China, for 700 million Euro enterprise value. L´Orange is part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG.

We advised the Macquarie led Eriugena consortium on the financial close on the Dublin Institute of Technology’s Grangegorman Campus. The campus is one of Ireland’s largest educational campus developments financed through a public private partnership (PPP).

The buildings will provide world class facilities for DIT Colleges of Sciences and Health, Arts and Tourism and for the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and will allow the Institute to merge its current 39 locations across the city of Dublin together in one new state of the art campus.
