PARTNER MOVES - Former U.S. Attorney John Horn Joins King & Spalding’s Atlanta Office

King & Spalding today announced that former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia John Horn has joined as a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office where he began his legal career. Horn is the fifth federal prosecutor and ninth lateral to join the firm’s Special Matters team, which is part of the Government Matters practice group, in the past year. He also becomes the fifth former U.S. Attorney currently practicing at King & Spalding.

PARTNER MOVES - Outstanding PNG litigator and advocate joins Corrs as partner

One of Papua New Guinea’s top litigators and advocates, Allan Mana, has joined Australia’s leading independent law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth as partner in Port Moresby, PNG.

Set to lead Corrs PNG litigation practice, Allan joining the firm, along with the recent hiring of two new Associates, means that Corrs PNG is now among the top three Australian or international law firms in the country by size.

PARTNER MOVES - Jeff Tsai joins DLA Piper's Litigation, White Collar and Investigations practices in California

DLA Piper announced today that Jeff Tsai has joined the firm's Litigation, White Collar and Investigations practices as a partner in California, based out of the San Francisco and Los Angeles offices.

Tsai, who previously led Alston & Bird's State Attorneys General team, represents companies in complex civil and criminal enforcement matters brought by state and federal agencies. He will help lead DLA Piper's efforts nationally in assisting companies subject to investigative scrutiny by individual and multi-state attorneys general.

Roberta joins from Herbert Smith Freehills LLP where she was a Senior Associate in the US Capital Markets Group. She specialises in US securities law in the Equity and Debt Capital Markets arenas and brings a wealth of experience in representing European corporate clients and international investment banks on cross-border equity and debt capital markets transactions.

MinterEllison supports DELWP on $50m battery storage projects for Western Victoria

MinterEllison has advised Victoria's Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) on its Energy Storing Initiative (ESI) – a funding program that will deliver two large-scale battery storage projects for grid constrained areas in Western Victoria.

The two large-scale, grid-connected battery projects have the objectives of improving the performance and reliability capability of Victoria's energy infrastructure, and enabling delivery of sustainable and affordable energy to Victorian consumers over the long term.

Allen & Overy advises Barclays on syndicated revolving credit facility for ADO Properties S.A. in the amount of 175 million euro

Allen & Overy LLP has advised Barclays Bank PLC as co-ordinator and agent on a syndicated revolving credit facility for ADO Properties S.A., a Luxembourg-based real estate company operating primarily in Berlin, in the amount of 175 million euro.

The financing bank syndicate further consisted of ABN AMRO Bank N.V., BNP Paribas S.A. Niederlassung Deutschland and Société Générale S.A., Frankfurt Branch, acting as mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners.

Bird & Bird's Aviation Disputes team secures a US$90m payout for BOC Aviation in landmark case

Bird & Bird's Aviation Disputes team in London has successfully represented Singapore-based BOC Aviation and BOC Aviation, Ireland, in a landmark case against the now defunct Kingfisher Airlines Limited, and its parent United Breweries.

The UK High Court ruling ordered Kingfisher and United Breweries, to pay an estimated US$90 million in claims to our client, in respect of four contracts taken out by Kingfisher and guaranteed by United Breweries between 2004 and 2011.
