CMS advises Atenor on the sale of the 4th building of the Váci Greens project to a Hungarian private fund

CMS Budapest has advised the Belgian real estate developer Atenor on the sale of Building D of the Vaci Greens complex to a Hungarian private fund. The 15,650 sqm building was already 60% pre-leased to high-profile international tenants, such as Unilever, Aon and Atos.

Herbert Smith Freehills advises Seven Group Holdings on A$350m convertible bond issue

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Seven Group Holdings (SGH) on its A$350 million convertible bond issue, which has given SGH greater diversity in its funding base, increased average duration given its seven year term and supported the refinancing of a legacy debt platform acquired with Coates Hire.  The bonds will be listed on SGX-ST in Singapore.

SGH is a leading Australian diversified operating and investment group with market leading businesses and investments in industrial services, oil and gas, and media.

HSH Nordbank Sold to Private Investor Consortium

Willkie represented investor GoldenTree Asset Management in the transaction.

The German federal state owners of HSH Nordbank agreed to sell the bank for €1 billion to a consortium of private investors including independent affiliates of Cerberus European Investments, J. C. Flowers & Co., GoldenTree Asset Management, Centaurus Capital LP and BAWAG. The sale will transfer 94.9 percent of HSH to the investors and is the first successful privatization of a federal state bank in Germany.

K&L Gates Advises Amwal on Landmark Fund Launch

Doha - The Doha office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP has advised Qatari asset management firm Amwal on the raising of funds and listing of the first-ever exchange traded fund (ETF) in Qatar, also the largest ETF in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
 
The K&L Gates team that advised on the matter, which demonstrates the growing sophistication of the Qatari financial services sector, consisted of Doha partner Amjad Hussain, Washington, D.C., partner Stacey Fuller, and Doha associates Jaime Oon and Mohammed Tartir.
 

Herbert Smith Freehills advises Uber on US$3.8 billion combination with Yandex.Taxi in Russia and CIS

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Uber Technologies Inc. (Uber) on the combination of its ridesharing business in Russia and neighbouring Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries with Yandex.Taxi. The deal completed on 7 February 2018. Uber now owns 36.9% of the combined business and its stake is valued at US$1.4 billion.

Greenberg Traurig Germany advises LaSalle on acquisition of "Salamanderhaus" in Stuttgart for EUR 73 million

Greenberg Traurig Germany advised LaSalle Investment Management (LaSalle) on the acquisition of the "Salamanderhaus" in Stuttgart. LaSalle acquired the property on behalf of the Testina investment foundation for approximately EUR 73 million by way of a share deal. Testina is a Swiss investment foundation for real estate investments. The seller was La Francaise Group.

The "Salamanderhaus" combines office and retail space and is fully let to a diverse tenant base. Greenberg Traurig Germany advised LaSalle comprehensively on all legal aspects of the transaction.

Debevoise Advises MegaFon in the Discontinuation of Euroset Joint Venture

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has advised PJSC MegaFon (“MegaFon”) in its transaction with PJSC VimpelCom (VimpelCom”), a Russian subsidiary of VEON Ltd. (“VEON”), to discontinue their Euroset joint venture.

Pursuant to terms of the transaction, VimpelCom acquired half of Euroset’s retail stores and sold its 50% interest in the Euroset joint venture to MegaFon, resulting in MegaFon now owning 100% of Euroset.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises on ground breaking green bond issuance in Asia

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised GuarantCo, the international development finance institution, in relation to a landmark INR 2.5 billion (approximately US$40 million) dual tranche unsecured wrapped and rated bond issuance by Sindicatum Renewable Energy Company Pte Ltd. Sindicatum is an Asian developer, owner and operator of clean energy projects.
