Addleshaw Goddard has announced the appointment of Construction heavyweights Paul O' Kane (outgoing national head of construction at DWF) and Paul Barge (outgoing head of DWF's Manchester construction team) to its North West Construction team. Also joining the two partners from DWF are six associates, who also specialise in Construction and Engineering law.  The appointments add significant bench strength to an already pre-eminent construction practice in the North West.

Dentons announced the hire of Davide Boffi as partner in the Employment and Labor practice. He joins from Italian law firm Ughi e Nunziante along with associate Marco Alessandro Prandelli and trainee Francesca Servadei. They will be based in the Milan office.

Three new partners have joined Stewarts in 2018, in the Commercial Litigation, Tax Litigation and Personal Injury departments.

Squire Patton Boggs has advised the management shareholders of recruitment outsourcing company de Poel on the sale of the business to Geometric Results, Inc. (GRI), a portfolio company of Bain Capital Private Equity and wholly owned subsidiary of MSX International, in a deal that will create the world’s largest independent managed service provider.

Clifford Chance has advised Actis on its acquisition of an 110MW El Pelicano Solar Plant ("El Pelicano") in Chile from SunPower Corporation. El Pelicano commenced commercial operation on November 2017. The project is expected to deliver 300GWh of electricity annually to Metro de Santiago, Santiago's underground railway system.

Dentons has advised Helical Plc, the leading property developer and investor, in relation to its sale of three logistics assets to a fund managed by Clearbell Capital for a total of £20.25 million.

The assets comprise Aspect Way in Doncaster (122,600 sq ft), Sandal Stones Road in Doncaster (153,500 sq ft) and Wyatt Way in Thetford (127,600 sq ft).

Dentons has advised Lee Kim Tah-Metro Jersey Limited (the "Company") on its acquisition of 5 Chancery Lane for £76 million. The acquisition is part of a 50/50 joint venture by Singaporean investors Lee Kim Tah Group and Metro Holdings.

Irwin Mitchell Advises Begbies Traynor On Deal

The Great Northern Envelope Company (GNE) in Leeds has been acquired by Encore Envelopes Limited after going into Administration on 12 February 2018.

Unfortunately, GNE had experienced some difficult trading conditions, but Tyne and Wear-based Encore Envelopes stepped in to purchase the business, saving 129 jobs.

International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Ebiquity plc, an independent marketing and media consultancy operating out of EMEA, North and South America and Asia Pacific, on the proposed disposal of its advertising intelligence business to Nielsen Media Research Limited, a subsidiary of Nielsen Holdings plc, the global measurement and data analytics company. Quayle Monro Limited acted as Ebiquity’s corporate finance advisor in respect to the transaction.
