Freshfields advises Cinven on the £475m sale of Northgate Public Services Limited

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (‘Freshfields’) has advised Cinven, the international private equity firm, on its agreement to sell Northgate Public Serviced Limited (‘NPS’) for £475m. The buyer is Tokyo Stock Exchange listed NEC Corporation (‘NEC’).

Acquired by Cinven in December 2014, NPS is a leading provider of mission-critical software and intellectual property-led services to the property sector in the UK, Australia and Canada. NPS is headquartered in the UK and has more than 2000 staff worldwide.

Ropes & Gray Advises on Sale of TCP LifeSystems to iPipeline

Ropes & Gray has advised the founders of TCP LifeSystems - a software solutions provider to life and pensions insurance companies – on their sale of the company to iPipeline UK, a leading provider of business intelligence to the UK life, pension and investment markets.

The financial terms of the deal, which was announced on 3 January 2018, have not been disclosed.

DLA Piper advises OX2 on the sale of Stigshöjden wind farm

DLA Piper has advised OX2 on its sale of the 21.6 MW wind farm to Fontavis, a Swiss asset manager for energy and infrastructure investments.

OX2 has developed and constructed approximately 1600 MW of wind power, and is one of the leading players in onshore wind power in Northern Europe.

The DLA Piper team based in Stockholm was led by Corporate partner Peter Ihrfelt, assisted by Real Estate senior associates Johan Forsling and Mats Eriksson.

 

Legal Publisher Law Business Research Sells to Levine Leichtman

Cooley advised the management team of publisher Law Business Research (LBR), a leading provider of research news, data and insight on international business law and legal markets, on its sale to Levine Leichtman Capital Partners. Cooley private equity partner Stephen Rosen led the team. The deal saw private equity firm Bowmark Capital, which acquired LBR in 2013, exit the business.  

DLA Piper advises Savills Investment Management on acquisition

DLA Piper has advised the property fund manager, Savills Investment Management, on the establishment of its new fund Nordic Fund III – Retail, and the fund's subsequent acquisition of four retail parks in Haparanda, Borlänge, Uppsala and Uddevalla in Sweden from IKEA Centres.

DLA Piper advised on the Swedish, German and English law in relation to the acquisition of the retail parks, as well as the financing of the acquisition.

Eversheds Sutherland acts for KPMG on the c. £400 million sale and leaseback of its London headquarters in Canary Wharf

Eversheds Sutherland has advised longstanding client KPMG on completing the sale and leaseback of its headquarters at 15 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, to Kingboard Investments of Hong Kong for c.£400m.

Following an open tender, Eversheds Sutherland was instructed by KPMG to advise on all legal aspects of this particularly complex, top-flight transaction. 

The Eversheds Sutherland team was led by Partner and Head of London Real Estate Bruce Dear, working with Partner Nef Jones, Senior Associate Jonathan Woodward and Associate Natasha O’Neill.
