A former prosecutor and experienced trial lawyer, Mr. Dean focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters, including patent and trade secrets cases, antitrust actions, securities matters, unfair competition cases, trademark disputes, employment actions, OSHA cases, and healthcare matters.

Bryony Hurst has joined Cooley as a partner in the firm’s London commercial litigation practice. Hurst arrives from Bird & Bird, where she was a partner in the dispute resolution group and head of the social media group. She represents a wide range of clients, including some of the world’s largest online platforms and digital businesses, in complex, high-stakes litigation involving data, content, and media and technology supply.

William K. Pao joins Cooley’s Los Angeles office as a partner in the firm’s securities litigation + enforcement group and global litigation department. He arrives from O’Melveny & Myers where he served as chair of the fintech group and co-chair of the artificial intelligence (AI) group. At Cooley, Pao will advise a broad range of clients – including cryptocurrency and block chain pioneers – on securities, regulatory and litigation issues.
