Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer announced that it has added H.T. Flanagan as a partner in its U.S. finance practice in New York with a focus on capital solutions.

Global law firm Reed Smith announces the hire of Jamie Ryder as partner in its Entertainment and Media Industry Group and based in the firm’s UAE offices. He joins on 3 July.

Ryder’s broad practice is focused on IP, media, sports and entertainment law. He has over 15 years’ experience in drafting and negotiating bespoke commercial agreements for local and international clients, including content acquisition agreements, content production and financing agreements, multi-platform media exploitation agreements and sponsorship agreements.

Christophe Lefort and Paul Loisel are joining Orrick as partners in the firm’s Energy & Infrastructure group in Paris. Paul joined on June 12th while Christophe will join on July 3rd.

The duo will focus on advising investors, developers, sponsors and financiers on complex energy and infrastructure projects and transactions, especially in France, Europe and Francophone Africa.

Global law firm Ashurst has appointed a new Head of M&A (Australia), Neil Pathak, as part of a plan to further expand its offering across both public and private M&A in Australian and international markets.

Neil will join Ashurst in July 2023 as a senior partner, along with M&A and private equity expert Susannah Macknay, who joined in June 2023.
