Based in New York, Mr. Betor will be an integral part of the firm’s leading State and Local Tax (SALT) practice in New York. In addition to providing multistate advice to the firm’s clients, Mr. Betor focuses on consulting on New York tax issues, state tax consequences of mergers and acquisitions, and tax accounting considerations of SALT positions. Mr. Betor will join New York-based SALT Partners Ted Friedman and recently elected Liz Cha. Mr.

Withers continues its rapid growth strategy in the life sciences sector in Boston with the arrival of new partners Tom Meyers and Zachary Hyde. 

Tom and Zack work primarily with clients in the life sciences sector. They develop, implement, and monetize innovation, spanning areas such as diagnostics, medical devices, life science tools and technology platforms, genomics and therapeutics.

Julian Bailey will join the Firm as a partner in the Global Disputes Practice, based in London.

Mr. Bailey advises clients on international construction and infrastructure projects across a variety of industries, including transportation, oil and gas, energy (including renewables), industrial, health care, and insurance. He has played a lead role as counsel to clients in disputes on most continents, representing sovereign governments, developers, and contractors in complex large-scale matters.

Global law firm K&L Gates has appointed Naomi Philp as a partner in the Corporate practice team in Sydney, continuing a recent run of partner hires and promotions within the Corporate and Asset Management and Investment Funds teams both in Australia and globally.

Felipe has over 25 years of experience and is the legal representative in Chile for the Lloyd’s of London insurance market. Felipe joins from Acuña, Hoetz & Cifuentes, where he spent more than eight years as a partner.
