PARTNER MOVES - Employment practice partner David Long-Daniels joins Reed Smith in Atlanta

Reed Smith announced that David Long-Daniels has joined the firm’s Labor & Employment Group as a partner in its rapidly growing Atlanta office.

Formerly with Squire Patton Boggs, Long-Daniels handles high-profile labor and employment and complex commercial litigation trials in courts across the U.S. He is the 17th partner to join the firm’s Atlanta office, which launched in January and now comprises nearly 40 lawyers.

Piero Carbone has joined Jones Day as a partner in the Corporate Practice. He is based in the Firm's London Office.

Mr. Carbone focuses on cross-border corporate transactions, particularly in the area of private equity. He advises private equity firms on a range of transactions, including mid-market and large leveraged buyouts, public-to-private (P2P) transactions, buy-and-build transactions, and reorganizations. Mr. Carbone also advises private credit funds and other private capital solutions funds managers on their debt and structured investments.

PARTNER MOVES - Goodwin bolsters Brussels offering with partner Athena Kontosakou and a team of global antitrust and EU regulatory experts

Goodwin announces that Athena Kontosakou has joined the firm’s Antitrust and Competition practice, as a partner in the Brussels office.

This appointment follows the recent opening of the firm’s new office in Brussels and the arrival of leading EU and UK competition law partner Stephen Mavroghenis who will lead the firm’s Brussels office. A team of associates are also expected to join on the ground in Brussels over the coming months.
