PARTNER MOVES - King & Spalding Adds Two Construction & Energy Disputes Partners in Dubai

King & Spalding has recruited Patrick McPherson and Randall Walker as partners in its Trial & Global Disputes Practice, based in Dubai, to expand the firm’s construction, energy and infrastructure disputes offering in the Middle East.

McPherson acts on contentious and non-contentious construction matters, representing developers, contractors and sub-contractors across the Middle East. Walker handles energy and infrastructure-related disputes, including construction arbitrations, and project counsel mandates globally.

PARTNER MOVES - Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced the hire of new partner Becky Tai to expand its shipping practice in Hong Kong.

Previously at Clifford Chance Hong Kong, Becky is a shipping finance lawyer who has extensive experience advising on maritime and offshore structured financing transactions across a wide range of asset types including LNG carriers, cruise ships and high-specification drilling rigs. Becky’s financial products experience spans ECA-supported loan facilities, sale and leaseback transactions, JOLCOs, loan facilities with flip-to-bond structure and sale and lease-back transactions supported by unique investment structures.

PARTNER MOVES - TLT strengthens financial services disputes practice with major team hire

TLT has hired of a 12-strong financial services disputes and investigations team to its London office, significantly deepening its already extensive expertise in financial services disputes and regulation across the UK.

The team – including partners Clare Stothard and Steven Mills, as well as seven additional fee-earners and professional support staff – joins from Dentons.

Mills & Reeve is expanding its nationally recognised healthcare team with the appointment of Neil Ward.

Neil, formerly a partner at Browne Jacobson for 10 years, specialises in all areas of healthcare law. His particular areas of expertise relate to inquests and high-profile serious medical treatment cases heard in the Court of Protection.

Neil will be based in the Birmingham office where he will help to grow the healthcare law work from both public and independent sector health and care sector clients.
