PARTNER MOVES - DWF announces new head of insurance in Dublin

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, is due to welcome James Colville as Head of Insurance in Dublin and managing partner of the Dublin office in January 2025.

James brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having qualified, trained, and worked in both England and Ireland with firms such as Greenwoods, Eversheds, and DAC Beachcroft.

PARTNER MOVES - Sidley continues building global finance team with London partner Tania Bedi

Sidley is pleased to announce that Tania Bedi will be joining Sidley’s Global Finance practice as a partner in London. She comes from Latham & Watkins, where she was co-chair of the London Finance Department, and follows the recent arrivals of a team of five Global Finance partners (Jay Sadanandan, Sam Hamilton, Fergus O’Domhnaill, Joe Kimberling, and Ben Wright) as well as two Capital Markets partners (Scott Colwell and Patrick Kwak), also from Latham & Watkins.

The large loss team based in Manchester welcomes Luisa Lamb and Elizabeth Wallace, both of whom join from Clyde & Co, where they were partners in the catastrophic injury and large loss team. Their experience includes working on high value motor, employer’s and public liability matters, as well as catastrophic injury claims.

Phil joins the firm from Acuity Law and with more than 15 years of experience, has acted on a wide range of high value and cross border transactions including acquisitions, disposals, investments, joint ventures and restructures.

Phil has specialist experience in technology, healthcare and education sectors and advises a diverse portfolio of clients, recently advising on the sale of a Premier League football club to an American consortium.
