Novelty on the debt capital market: Noerr advises IKB on placement of bond to finance student residences

Noerr has advised IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG (IKB) on the successful placement of a bond of Deutsche Real Estate Funds (DREF). With a volume of € 44 million, this issue marks a novelty on the capital market: for the first time a bond is placed to finance student housing.

The preference shares are expected to be listed on Nasdaq First North on 7 July 2015.

DLA Piper has advised Gordon Brothers Europe (GBE) on its £1.2 million second lien term loan to Theo Fennell, a leading luxury jewellery retailer. The loan was provided in conjunction with a new senior facility from a UK-based lender.

Theo Fennell combines design and craftsmanship to create original, imaginative and unusual pieces sold through its own stores, concessions and selective retailers around the world. The loan will be used to support the working capital needs and future growth of the business.

The syndicate comprised of BNP Paribas S.A. – Frankfurt Branch, Deutsche Bank Luxembourg S.A., DZ BANK AG Deutsche Zentral-Genossenschaftsbank, Frankfurt am Main, Frankfurter Sparkasse and HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG provides syndicated financing for Merz GmbH & Co. KGaA, Frankfurt Branch with a five-year term and an increase option.

Clifford Chance advises on China Three Gorges Corporation's US$700 million and EUR700 million notes

Clifford Chance has advised the underwriters on China Three Gorges Corporation's Rule 144A/Reg. S offering of US$700 million and EUR700 million notes through its wholly-owned special purpose vehicles Three Gorges Finance I (Cayman Islands) Limited and Three Gorges Finance II (Cayman Islands) Limited, respectively. The joint global coordinators were J.P. Morgan, Deutsche Bank and ICBC.
