WFW advises WW on Italian hydroelectric plant financing

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW“) advised Werdenfelser Wasserkraft GmbH (“WW”) on a €20m+ financing provided by Bayern LB, for the construction of a 10 MW  hydropower plant in the Valle d’Aosta region (Italy).

Munich-based WW specialises in the acquisition, construction operation and support of hydropower plants for the production of renewable energy in Germany and beyond.

Clifford Chance advises on open access optical fiber network project in Rotterdam

Renewable energy financial advisor Green Giraffe was mandated by L2Fiber Rotterdam to raise equity for their open access optical fiber network in Rotterdam. In July 2018 Highland entered into an exclusive agreement to invest in L2Fiber Rotterdam. The company plans to bring optical fiber access to all 295,000 homes in Rotterdam over the next 5 years.

Clifford Chance advises international banking consortium on € 1.5 billion refinancing of Offshore-Windpark Merkur

The international law firm Clifford Chance has advised a consortium consisting of international and national private and public sector financial institutions lead by KfW IPEX-Bank on the refinancing for the construction and operation of the offshore wind park "Merkur" in the North Sea with a volume of about € 1.5 billion.

CMS advises creditors to Green Investment Group on another landmark Nordic onshore wind project

International law firm CMS has advised Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (Crédit Agricole CIB), KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH (KfW) and Denmark’s Export Credit Agency (EKF) as creditors in relation to €270m of total funding for a 235 MW onshore wind farm at Länsterhöjden & Storflötten in the Ånge Municipality of Västernorrland, central Sweden.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises Alpha Bank on one of the first financing of greenfield onshore wind power under the new Greek support scheme for renewable electricity

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Alpha Bank on the $30 million non-recourse financing of a greenfield onshore wind power project developed by Eoliki Energiaki Achladotopos S.A., a Greek subsidiary of Total Eren, in Evia, Greece.

The project will have a total installed capacity of 19.2 MW, consisting of six Siemens wind turbine generators, and is expected to come online by October 2018.

This is one of the very first projects that was financed under the new national support scheme for renewable electricity.

First structured financing in German regional rail passenger transport by institutional investors

Allen & Overy advises on first HKQAA certified green bond issuance by a financial institution

HONG KONG - Allen & Overy has advised the joint global coordinators and joint lead managers on the issue of USD731m equivalent dual-currency multiple-tranche senior unsecured green bonds by ICBC (Asia) under its USD6bn MTN programme.

 This was the first green bonds issued by a financial institution to have received the Pre-issuance Stage Certificate from the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA).
