Norton Rose Fulbright advises lenders on £2.6bn offshore wind farm in Scotland

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised a consortium of lenders and financial institutions in relation to the financing of the £2.6bn Beatrice offshore wind farm in Scotland. The senior debt comprised facilities from 13 commercial lenders, along with EKF (Eksport Kredit Fonden) and European Investment Bank.

Offshore construction of the 588MW site is expected to begin in 2017 and be operational in 2019. It is anticipated that the project will power approximately 450,000 homes.

Linklaters advises on £2.6bn wind farm

Linklaters has advised the sponsors, SSE Renewables, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and SDIC Power on the construction and financing of the £2.6bn 588-megawatt, 84 turbine Beatrice offshore wind farm. Linklaters advised on all aspects of the project, including on the £1.9billion debt financing, which involved 13 commercial lenders, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Danish export credit agency Eksport Kredit Fonden (EKF).

Advising the Ministry of Defence on the Financial Closing of its Latest Training Package for Rotary Wing Aircraft

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised the Ministry of Defence (‘MOD’) on the financial closing of its latest training package: Rotary Wing aircraft, under the tri-service UK Military Flying Training System. The Rotary Wing Training Package involves the delivery of 32 Airbus aircraft – H135 (x29) and H145 (x3) – and new infrastructure and ground-based training equipment.

Linklaters advises on £1.3bn wind farm project financing

Linklaters has advised the sponsors on the £1.3billion project financing for one of the world’s biggest offshore wind farms, being developed off the UK coast.

The 402-megawatt Dudgeon project, under construction off the north Norfolk coast, is the first offshore wind farm to obtain financing under the UK government’s new contract for difference (CfD) system for supporting renewables. Linklaters is also advising on the Beatrice offshore windfarm financing, the MGT biomass project and a number of other project financings contemplated for CfD projects.
