CMS advises Shell on the first unconventional gas PSA in Ukraine

CMS in Kyiv has successfully advised Shell on the first production sharing agreement (PSA) for unconventional gas in Ukraine, which was signed on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum on Thursday, 24 January, between Shell, Nadra Yuzivska LLC and the Government of Ukraine.

Shell and its partner will explore and appraise hydrocarbon plays they have identified and specifically the tight gas potential of the Yuzivska area. The Yuzivska area covers approximately 7,800 square kilometres in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions of Ukraine.

Field Fisher Waterhouse advises Telenet on Premier League broadcasting rights tender

Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP has advised Telenet, a leading provider of broadband cable services on its successful bid to acquire the Premier League broadcasting rights in Belgium.

Telenet provides cable television, high speed internet and telecom services, primarily to residential customers in Flanders and Brussels.  Telenet is currently a Premier League rights holder and has been awarded the exclusive audio visual broadcast rights for a further three years.  This covers all 380 Barclays Premier League matches for seasons 2013/14–2015/16 in Belgium.

Charles Russell advise Brighton & Hove Albion FC on major acquisition during the January transfer window

The Charles Russell Sports group advised Brighton on its signing of Almeria striker Leonardo Ulloa.  The 26-year-old Argentine has signed a four-and-a-half year contract with the Championship club. Ulloa, who scored 29 goals for the Spanish second division side last season and represented a major acquisition for the ambitious Championship club.

Ltd, creditor, on the insolvency proceedings of Ecoware SpA, a Padua-based company (Northern Italy), specialising in the construction PV plants and fully owned and controlled by Aion Renewables (former Kerself).

Ashurst advises Peak Reinsurance Company Limited on its formation and the grant of insurance licence

Ashurst Hong Kong has advised Peak Reinsurance Company Limited ("Peak Re") on its formation and the grant of its insurance licence by the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance.
 
Peak Re is now licensed in Hong Kong as a general reinsurer with a focus on the Asia Pacific region. With initial capital of USD 550 million, the company is 85.1% owned by Fosun International Limited and 14.9% owned by International Financial Corporation.
 

Sale of Stansted Airport

Burges Salmon has advised the Competition Commission on the corporate aspects of the sale of Stansted Airport for £1.5bn in cash. 

The sale to Manchester Airports Group was announced on 18 January 2013.  The sale price is 15.6 times 2012 earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation and the transaction is expected to be completed by the end of February 2013.
